When the man turns his face, my mouth drops open.

It’s Keller.

The rat bastard.

He’s the one feeding inside information to our competitors. The mole trying to take us down from the inside. He and Tabitha have been working together this whole time.

“Fuck,” Charles grunts. “Ryan, can you make me a copy of that?”

“Certainly, sir, I’ll do that right away.”

Ryan seems very pleased that he has done something good for the company. He makes a copy and hands it to Charles, and the two of us make our way back upstairs. I feel relief wash over me.

“So, what are you going to do?” I ask.

“I’m going to speak to the board of directors right now. I need to call the police.”

I nod. “Good. Take them down. Once and for all.”

“Good idea.”

“Any word from Paxton? Did he know about this?”

He blows out a tired breath. “He claims that Holly went behind his back and organized the whole thing with Diosa, alongside Bauer.”

“I’m having a hard time grasping the level of betrayal. Holly seemed so nice.”

He huffs. “This is business, love. Nice doesn’t factor in.”

Love.

I know I shouldn’t get my hopes up about him using that term of endearment, but I can’t help it. It felt so natural. So... normal.

But now isn’t the time to speak to him about our fallout. Right now, we need to try to win back Diosa.

Going to his office, I close the door and call Asher, who is clearly in a huge panic after our last conversation.

“Raven. What’s going on? Is Charles going to out me to Bauer? I’m going to lose my job, aren’t I?”

“I’m sorry you got mixed up in all of this. I’m not sure if your name will get brought up, but Charles has assured me he’ll do his best to keep your name out of it.”

He sighs. “I’m not sure I want to work there anymore. Not when this is how they operate.”

“Maybe Charles can hire you here. I’ll speak to him about it.”

He grunts. “You think after our start that would be a good idea?”

I take a second to think this through, but I know the answer.

Charles isn’t the type to mix business with personal issues. If Asher is good at the job, Charles would hear him out.

“I think he would.”

“We’ll cross that bridge when we get there,” Asher says.

I spent the next half-hour telling him about how I met Charles and how Tabitha used our relationship to gain access to my computer.

“Wow. That’s... insane.”
