“I heard every noise. You two made the walls rattle. The roof nearly crashed down. Why do you think I left the house? Now I want to know what caused your screams and moans.”
Steph and Kim sniggered.Traitors.
“Um...” I blushed, burying my face in my hands, utterly mortified. I had been loud. Louder than I’d ever been. Storm didn’t give a shit either. He tortured me every chance he got, and the result was massive, out of this world orgasms. During one round, he’d made me come six times. Six. Times.
It was phenomenal.
The thought of never experiencing such pleasure again tore me asunder. Never having Storm’s strong arms around me, soft lips on mine and his tender whispers in my ear gutted me.
“Come on. Tell us. It was great with the biker, right?” Tara leaned into me. “We should all find ourselves an outlaw, shouldn’t we? Just tell us. If they all fuck like Storm, I want in on the action.”
I nearly dropped my mug. “My God, girl. Were you listening outside my bedroom door?”
“We share a wall, Mads. A thin wall. And nobody takes an hour-long shower unless they’re fucking in it.” A contemplative expression appeared on her face. “Wait. How in the hell did he fit his massive frame into our puny shower?”
“When Storm is determined, nothing holds him back.” It was the truth, too. Storm had me for two glorious, euphoric days. After using me, he left.
Steph and Kim stared in wonder with mouths gaping, eyes wide. I’d never felt so exposed while fully dressed before.
I was about to appease them with the shortest version of my weekend sexfest when Steph and Kim’s gaze shifted off me at the sound of the jingling entrance bell.
“Oh, crap,” Steph whispered. “Don’t turn around. It’s the bikers from the armory.”
My pulse spiked.
Storm had warned me about the Dirty Hunters. I glanced out the window and searched for the prospect keeping an eye on me. I wasn’t thrilled when I saw him following Tara and me this morning. Why Storm felt the need to have someone watching me didn’t make sense. He was done with me.
The young guy named AJ stepped out of the hardware store across the street with his cell phone at his ear. I had a hunch he was on the phone with Storm. Not two seconds after AJ put his phone in his pocket, mine started ringing. My pulse nosedived, seeing Storm’s name.
The girls looked at me with expectant expressions.
It’s Storm, I mouthed. I didn’t know what to do. Answer it? Ignore it?
“Answer it,” Tara hissed with annoyance. She knew I was upset about him ignoring me all week.
On the fourth ring, I reluctantly answered. “Hello.”
“Angel, you okay?” The gall of this man acting concerned after ghosting me. And calling me Angel? What an asshole.
“I’m fine.” Lie. I was hurt, angry, and confused, but I wouldn’t tell him so.
“AJ said Hunters are in the bakery, and you’re still there.”
“Yup. So?”
“What do you mean, so? I told you all about them.”
“Yeah, you did. I’m in a public place with lots of people around. They’re just buying coffee. I don’t see the big deal or why you’re calling me about it.”
“Don’t look directly at them. AJ said he saw three. Any others?”
He totally disregarded what I’d said. Jerk. Like the fool I apparently was, I peeked over my shoulder. The trio was flirting with the girl at the register.
“Just the three. They’re laughing and talking with the young woman at the counter.”
“Fuckers. You know why they’re doing that, right? You remember what I told you?”
“I do. It makes my skin crawl. But I’m fine. You didn’t need to call.”
