I knew who Jared was referring to. I knew he shouldn’t be different from the others, but he was. I couldn’t explain it. Maybe it’s because of what we both went through. Maybe it was because he was there and witnessed everything. But when it came down to it, I couldn’t lump him in with the others. So, no. I didn’t blame him.

“He’s different.”

“How? He was there. He agreed with Jason and the others. How is he different than your own family?”

I didn’t want to talk about this shit anymore. Getting to my feet, I said nothing as I began to clean up my workstation.

God, I let it go to shit.

Picking up empty bottles of water and papers, I heard Jared say, “I read the whole message Lena. She knew.”

“I know,” I whispered, dropping crap into my trashcan.

“What are you going to do?”

“I haven’t decided.”

“Well, you better figure it out fast because if something is about to go down and he finds out, trust me on this Lena. He will show up and God help us all if he does because nothing on this earth will be able to stop him.”

“I know.”
