“Yep. We take possession at the beginning of the new year. Gio wants to wait until he is married before things return to business as usual.”

“What about Diablo?” Doolittle asked.

“That mother fucker is a dead man walking. If Valentinetti doesn’t put a fucking bullet in his head, I will.”

“And Bullseye?” Ravage asked.

Sighing, I shook my head.

What could I say to the man?

“I made it just in time before he came out of the coma. When he asked about Kitty, I didn’t have to say much. He knew. He lost it, Ravage. They had to sedate him again. Took several of us to hold him down. I left and went in search of Savage. Found the drunk fucker in a bar. Got him cleaned up and on a plane. When I returned to the hospital, Jessica was waiting for me. Dylan left his cut on the bed. He drew a fucking bullseye on the back. We’ve all been marked.”

“Shit,” Doolittle sighed.

“Ravage thinks he will be here tomorrow for the funeral,” Ghost said as Ravage added. “He won’t miss it, Reaper. You know that.”

“Well, then I’m fucked because there is no way I am postponing her funeral, and I’ve put it off long enough. My Vault is being laid to rest tomorrow, and I don’t give a flying fuck if the bastard shoots us all. Get me?”

All three of them nodded.

“You three just make sure nothing happens. I don’t want any problems tomorrow. Tomorrow is Kitty’s Day, and I refuse to let her stubborn husband fuck it up, no matter how pissed he is with me right now. We all know the cranky fucker will be aiming at Savage and me. How’s Sandman?”

“Still mute as ever. Healer says he’s healed enough and refuses to go near him anymore. Sandman damn near broke his nose when Healer tried to get his vitals,” Ghost informed me with a smile.

“About time someone gave Healer a taste of his own medicine.”

“What do you want to do with him?” Ghost asked, all joking aside.

Sighing, I knew what Ghost was getting at. Sandman was a loose cannon. Someone we couldn’t have in the club. But he was a brother, and I just couldn’t send him off into the world. Fuck…the world wouldn’t survive. No. I needed to give Sandman a purpose. Something that would keep him engaged enough to not veer off course.

I was about to suggest something when a knife landed on the table. Jumping from my seat, I turned around and stared as Sandman walked out of the shadows.

“What the fuck!” I roared. “Are you trying to give me a fucking heart attack?”

“No,” the blonde behemoth muttered. “I’m staying.”

“Well, that’s not how you ask,” I replied, pointing to the knife sticking in my table as I tried to get my heart back in rhythm. Fuck, this man was going to be the death of me. Pointing to a seat, I said, “Sit the fuck down and stop lurking around. You’d scare the fucking devil himself.”

He muttered something unintelligible but took a seat.

Ravage, Ghost and Doolittle watched him like a hawk. Sandman wasn’t like everyone else. He was a natural-born killer. I’d seen him in action with my own eyes. He was the real deal.

Sitting back down, I rubbed my hands down my face and grinned, knowing exactly what I was going to do with Sandman. Looking at Ghost, who narrowed his eyes at me, I smiled. “I have the perfect job for you, Sandman.”

“Reaper,” Ghost warned, shaking his head.

“What? He’s perfect, and you know it.”

“She will kill you.”

“Better her than him,” I said, pointing at Sandman. “Besides, she needs protection. She is refusing to go to another safe house. This way, she can stay here, rip my balls off anytime she wants, and I get the peace of mind knowing that she is protected. Besides, I want to be there when my kid is born, and having Sandman watch her, I get that.”

“This is a mistake,” Ghost said, shaking his head.

“Get on board. He said he wanted to stay. This way, he can, and it keeps him out of trouble.”

“He won’t do it,” Ghost stated.
