Her daughter was dead.

Her son-in-law was in a coma.

Savage was missing.

Walking over to her, I said the only thing I could, “I am so sorry for your loss, Angela. If there is anything I can do. Just say it.”

“Thank you, Player. That was very kind of you. But what I need right now is a bed for Hailey. She is cranky, hungry, and needs a nap.”

“Viper, run over to Bullseye’s house. There is a playpen in the living room. Grab it and anything else you think Hailey will need,” Ghost ordered. Viper nodded and took off.

“Come inside, Angela. There are plenty of us around to help you with Hailey.”

“Momma,” the small girl moaned, rubbing her eyes as she tried to fight the sleep she desperately needed.

We all froze.

“Yeah, she started talking a week ago. She keeps asking for Kitty.” Sunny said shyly as she looked at Jake, the club’s prospect, who blushed bright red.

Ari, the wonderful gentle woman she was, turned and held out her hands for Hailey, “Come on, sweetheart. How about I read you a story?”

I watched as Hailey quickly went to Ari, who headed into the clubhouse, with Ghost right behind her. The second the little girl was out of sight, Angela turned to the rest of us and said, “I can’t stay here. Please understand. I would do anything for my granddaughter, but not this. If you don’t mind, can one of you take me home?”

“I can drive Angela, Player,” Jake, the club’s prospect offered quickly, before jumping behind the driver’s seat of one of the SUVs.

Nodding, I said nothing more as the woman grabbed a few bags from inside one of the SUVs and handed them to me. “These are Hailey’s things. Please tell Reaper I will call him tomorrow.”

“Yes, ma’am.”

With that, Angela got into the SUV and left with Jake.

“What was that all about,” Massacre asked, coming to stand next to me.

“I don’t know,” I replied, then turned to Chaos and said, “We need to park the vehicles and make sure all the bags are in the clubhouse. Go find Shadow, Smoke, and Gadget. I don’t want a pissed-off pregnant woman shouting for nothing.”

“You mean besides at Reaper?” Shadow snickered as he walked up behind me. “Heard my name. Man is Remi pissed.”

“Yeah, she is. Help Chaos,” I ordered before heading back into the clubhouse. Of course, when I entered the clubhouse main room, Remi was standing before Reaper, pointing her little finger in his chest. “I don’t care what you said. I am not staying in a safe house one more night, and neither is my brother and sister. They need to be in school, and I need my own bed.”

“Damn it, woman, it ain’t safe here!”

“Then make it safe! Cause I’m not leaving, and you can’t make me!” she shouted as she turned on her dainty feet and marched upstairs, down the long hall, and a second later, we all heard a door slam.

We all jumped as Reaper yelled, “Church NOW!”

I woke with a startle as someone slammed a door.

Snapping awake, I quickly sat up and looked around the room, unsure for a few seconds where I was. Realizing I was still at the Golden Skulls compound in Reggie’s room, I sighed, closing my eyes.

I could hear several voices and a loud commotion downstairs. Something was going on.

I needed to get up anyway.

Sleeping hasn’t been easy for me. All I see is Colin’s little face crying out for me. I try to reach him in my dreams, but he is always just out of reach. The more I thought about it, I hadn’t slept well since before my brother took me back to Italy.
