Transported back to when my life was filled with laughter and love. He did that for me. All those vile thoughts evaporated as if he somehow had taken them away with this one simple touch.

I embraced the feeling as his arms slid around me, pulling me closer to him. I could feel his hard muscles, the heat radiating off of him. All of the emotions that had been simmering under the surface fled as he deepened the kiss.

His hands buried in my hair, fingers twisting and tangling in the thickness, and bunched at the back of my head. His mouth was soft yet possessive. As his tongue breached my lips, I gave a small moan.

The kiss, so innocent, quickly turned passionate and profound.

After what seemed like forever, he slowly lifted his lips from mine.

For moments afterward, my eyes were still closed. I could still feel the warmth of his lips and the quivering of my legs. When my eyes finally opened, I saw him staring at me. Then in the space of a heartbeat, he slowly lowered his mouth back to mine. Unable to stop, I sighed deeply and leaned into his strong arms. My legs felt like rubber, and my head was spinning. My hands crept up his chest and around his neck.

His kiss was passionate and long. It was the sweetest kiss I’d had ever known. It was pure, genuine, honest. Something I could hold onto. Something I craved.

I never wanted it to end.

Gasping he whispered,“Dio mi aiuti, amore mio.Le tue labbra hanno il sapore del paradiso.”

I grinned. “I’m not sure about that. Since no one knows what heaven tastes like.”

“You. You taste like heaven.” He sighed. His breath was heavy as he leaned his head against mine.

“Please don’t stop.”

“I must. I had a feeling. I knew.”

“Knew what?”

“That you would be the end of me.”

“I don’t want to end you, Giovanni. I want to protect you.”

He smiled at that. “That is my job,Mio Amore.”

“Kiss me again,” I whispered, looking at my hands. “For a moment there, I was free again. Safe.”

“Then let me make you feel safe.” He said as he gently peppered my face with light kisses over my eyes, cheeks, nose, then mouth. Like before, I was transported to the past, where everything was beautiful.

He moved carefully, grabbing my hips as he lifted and placed me in his lap, my legs wrapping around his body as we both sat there on the floor in his room. My hands lay gently on his chest as he held me tight to him, as he deepened the kiss.

I never wanted it to end.

He was calm, careful, gentle with me. I felt delicate in his arms that he was the only safe harbor for me. His mouth engulfed mine as his hands slowly moved down my back, cupping my bottom, pulling me against his growing erection.

A tiny flicker of something familiar shimmered down my spine. It was a delicious sensation, wholly alive and flowing through me. It was like the tremulous flutter I sometimes felt just at the moment of something exciting and new.

Something wild.

I reveled in the heated pleasure provoked by the silken warmth of his mouth and exploring tongue by the hard length of his body pressed firmly against mine. His kiss deepened, the taste and scent of him filling my mouth and nostrils, the exquisite feel of him so familiar, each breath more tempting as if his kisses served as appetizers, and soon, I would be served his main course.

In my urgency and desire, I slid my arms around his neck, lifted my face to better accommodate his mouth, melting against his muscled frame as I began kissing him back.

Pulling away for a moment, I gazed at him in wonderment.

He gently brushed his thumb over my swollen lips. I felt him pause, our mouths poised for each other. He held back, eyes melting into mine. We sat, breathing each other’s breath for moments, perhaps minutes, when he whispered, “We need to stop, mia Amore. Please. I am only a man.”

“Please don’t make me beg,” I whispered as the grand length of his erection pressed against my core, sending a shiver of lust up my spine.

“Non implorerai mai più nulla, amore mio.Not as long as I have breath in my body.” He said before he held me tight to him as he rose to his feet, taking me with him as if I weighed a mere feather. He carried me over to the large bed and laid me down. “God, Layla, you are beautiful.”
