She moved on him, and this time it was her setting the pace, her driving the action and creating a rhythm that drove Ethan to the edge of madness. She watched him, saw his eyes glaze with passion, felt the strength of his hands tighten on her hips. She swiveled on him, deepening their contact, driving them both now. Sadie knew another orgasm was coming and she held it back, wanting to reach that peak with Ethan this time.
And when he was ready, she took his surrender and gave him her own. Seconds, minutes, maybe hours ticked past as their bodies exploded in tandem. Then she crashed down onto his chest and was cradled in his arms.
* * *
“That was...” Sadie said with an exhausted, yet exhilarated sigh.
“Yeah, it was.” Ethan dragged his hands up and down her spine, keeping her right where she was, sprawled on top of him.
“I don’t think I can move,” she admitted. Never in her life had Sadie experienced anything like what she had with Ethan.
He was the man she’d looked for her whole life. And he was the one man she couldn’t have.
Her heart broke a little even though her body was content, practically humming.
“That’s good,” Ethan said. “I really don’t want you to move.”
She laughed a little and turned her face into his chest. “We can’t stay like this, Ethan. We’ll starve.”
“We can call out for pizza,” he said. “I can reach the phone from here.”
“And the delivery guy will bring it to us here?” She lifted her head and looked into his eyes. “A little embarrassing, don’t you think?”
He grinned. “I’ll toss the duvet over your excellent ass.”
Her heart turned over in her chest. “Excellent? Thanks.”
“Absolutely,” he said, as he dropped one hand to her behind and squeezed. “Nobody sees that ass but me.”
She thrilled to that and her too eager heart started celebrating. But she knew he didn’t mean anything by it. He wasn’t talking about permanence. Heck, he might not even really like her butt. It could all be the kind of things he said to every woman he took to bed. It would be foolish to build something out of nothing. And yet...
Sadie pushed those thoughts aside to examine later. For now, she kept her gaze fixed on his. “Your bed’s a lot more comfortable than the desk.”
She saw a flash in his green eyes and his hands on her butt tightened. “I’ve got a real fondness for that desk, now.”
“Me, too,” she admitted, then shivered.
“You cold?”
“A little,” she said, then whooped when he rolled them over, covering her body with his.
“Better?”
“Better,” she assured him, then gasped when he bent his head to taste one of her nipples again. “Okay,” Sadie whispered, “not cold anymore.”
He lifted his head to wink at her. “Glad to hear it. Now, let’s get even warmer.”
She swallowed hard, told her heart to slow down so it wouldn’t simply explode out of her chest, and let herself slide into the feelings Ethan engendered in her. His hands were everywhere. He moved and she sighed. He touched and she moaned. He kissed and she hungered.
With her eyes closed, it was strictly a sensory world. She heard the bedside table drawer open again. Heard foil being ripped. Heard him sigh as he sheathed himself, and then he was turning her onto her belly, lifting her hips and pushing her legs apart. She turned her face to one side as she reached up to hold on to the padded, gray leather headboard. Then Sadie looked over her shoulder at him, saw him poised at her center and felt everything inside her melt into a puddle of need and love and desire so thick and heavy, her body ached with it.
How could she need him again so quickly?
She licked her lips and whispered, “Do it, Ethan. Take me.”
His green eyes burned. His jaw was tight. Desire rippled off of his body in waves that washed over her and nearly took her under. Then he pushed himself home and she forgot everything.
She moved back into him, rocking, pushing. He ran his hands over her butt, then swept one down to touch her core as he drove into her from behind. Again and again, he was relentless, tireless. He pushed her, demanding she give him all she was, while he gave and took all at once. Their bodies slapped together and the heat in the room was breathless.
