“Huh.” Sky pouted. “Guess it’s just us tonight.”

“Good, we can play the new game without worrying about her being bored,” Noah said.

“Oh, yeah!” Vince perked up.

“You guys can play your video games whenever you want. You don’t have to worry about me,” I tried to argue, but Noah waved me off.

“It gives us something to bond over,” Gavin explained.

I met his eyes and could feel my cheeks warming. When would this pass? Would I always be this excited and flustered around him now?

Sky’s head bounded between us. “What’s going on with you two?”

“Yeah, I’ve noticed it too.” Luca crossed his arms.

Noah watched me with those penetrating eyes, and I felt like he could read my mind. I blinked and looked away.

“Nothing.” Gavin didn’t sound convincing at all.

Vince straightened. “Something happened.”

“No shit, Sherlock,” Noah bit out.

Sky’s eyes trailed over me like he was looking for some sort of physical evidence before doing the same to Gavin. “What is it?”

“Nothing,” I said firmly, hoping they would drop it.

I wanted to keep this between me and him for as long as possible, mostly because it was incredibly personal and special for us. Also, because I didn't want any of the other guys influenced by it. The last thing we needed was for any of them to feel like they had to say it, too, or pressured to catch up to the others.

The moment was right for me and Gavin. That didn’t mean I didn’t love the others. I did, but I didn’t want to rush things. It would happen with each of them when it was supposed to.

“Gavin and I are allowed to keep some things to ourselves.” I stared down at each of them. “I don’t share everything that happens between me and one of you with the rest. We agreed to keep things separate.”

Noah’s eyes flashed, but he finally let the fight out of his body with a sigh. Luca nodded, and Vince shrugged.

I turned to Sky, who was grinning until he saw my stern expression and turned serious. “Yes, ma’am.”

“Good.” I shared a smile with Gavin. I wanted nothing to ruin the memory of our perfect moment, and as much as I wanted to scream and let the whole school know I loved him, it wasn’t the fair thing to do. “See you guys later.”

I parkedon the street in front of Le Bistro and checked my phone. CeeCee said she was already seated inside, so I climbed out and headed for the doors. The moment I stepped inside, she stood up and waved. Only a few other tables were occupied, so I felt their eyes on me as I went to the table.

“Hey.” She gave me a quick hug before sitting back down.

“Hi, is Gwyneth here?” I asked as I hung my bag over the back of my chair and sat.

“Yeah, she’s in the restroom.”

I glanced at the menu in front of me and nearly moaned at the list of crepe fillings. “This looks delicious.”

“It’s one of our favorite places for a treat,” Gwyneth said from behind me. She came around to the other side of the table and sat across from me. “You can’t go wrong with the Nutella and strawberries.”

I nodded. My mouth watered already in anticipation.

“So, how are things?” CeeCee asked.

“Good.” The sound barely left my mouth before they were both scowling at me.
