Istudied the data for the hundredth time. Every time, the result was the same. After Reaper had barged in demanding to be informed about the Oz situation, I informed him that there was nothing I could do. He then shared some awful news of his own.

Torque had been the one to intercept communications about the creation of new cyborgs.

Reaper had studied what the Technology Model had gathered, and the situation was grim. The lab where the cyborgs were being manufactured was heavily guarded.

Next level security systems had been put in place. Brand new tech, far more advanced than what they had when they had created us. We needed an in and we needed it fast. The only new tech we had come across was Oz’s black-market implant. The design itself wasn’t safe, but it had been uploaded with the most recent hacking and decoding software available.

Cyborgs were smart…and fast. Given a little time, we would be able to create new tech that would infiltrate the Global Allegiance’s upgrades. But time wasn’t on our side.

They had hidden the intel well. The new models were set to go on sale within a week. Trying to free them from their new buyers would be almost impossible. There would be multiple locations we would have to hit all at the same time, putting many more of our cyborgs at risk of getting caught.

Oz’s implant granted us the best opportunity to get us into their new lab and free the cyborgs before they had the chance to be sold off. But doing that would kill her quicker than the deadline I had given her.

She would no longer get a month or two. She would get days at most. The only thing I could think of to do was inject her with the upgrade serum and hope that it would buy us more time.

The upgrade wouldn’t completely fix the damage. It would simply find ways to compensate for it until it couldn’t anymore, and she shut down. Unless I could find a way around it.

I had brought Iris and Marley back from near death. Technically, Iris had died for a moment before my serum kicked in and saved her. But I would be betting Oz’s life on the fact that I could find something to counter act the damage. As of right now, and for all my brilliance, I had nothing.

How do I ask her to do this for cyborgs she has never met?

If it was one of us, maybe, but it wasn’t. This wasn’t Viper or Axios. Could I truly ask my female’s best friend to die for the rebellion?

Viper

Oz’s limp and sweaty body rested on top of my frame. I processed the unique feeling of being covered in our mixed fluids, and not having it set off waves of terror. My head was blissfully quiet, as if someone had turned off all the fear and anxiety.

I wished to stay in this moment forever. Oz had altered the core of my existence. Programming rearranged itself and codes shifted as joy cycled through my circuits. Please don’t take her. I won’t survive it.

“When I can feel my legs, we need a shower.” Her teasing tone warmed my heart.

“Can’t we stay like this?” I tightened my hold. “Don’t want to move.”

Her head popped up, her brow creasing. “Who are you and what have you done with my Viper?”

“Your Viper, huh?”

She playfully punched my chest. “Yep. We established the fact you’re mine before I rode you into the mattress.” She kissed a path up my chest, stopping to seal her lips around one of my nipples, sucking it into her mouth.

My frame jolted. She laughed, her breath sliding across my skin. “Mine, Viper. Every inch, every heartbeat, every breath you take.” Her eyes blazed as she pinned me to the spot with her gaze. “No one else gets to have you.”

“Are you going to stamp me with ‘Property of Oz’?”

“Don’t tempt me, V. I’ll drag you to Dax right now.” Her hips shifted slightly and she frowned. “Or not. Walking is still not currently an option.”

“Then I’ll carry you.”

“To the bathroom? Because you might not want that shower, but I do. I’m sticky.”

“Anywhere you want and for as long as you want, my Oz.” Carefully I lifted her, my softened cock slipping free, and she let out a wince.

The sound sent horror through my veins. “I hurt you.” I rolled over, reaching for my comm.

Her hand gripped my wrist. “What are you doing?”

“I am calling Dax. He should have something to help with the pain.”
