Viper
My visual system had narrowed to the small female before me and the sight of her hand encased in mine.
My processors struggled to keep up with all the new information pinging through my CPU.
Oz wanted to be mine.
For the first time in my existence, I had no clue what came next. None of my hacking skills or superior programming could help me.
All I knew was standing here with Oz felt right.
Her hand belonged in mine, the pale skin mixing with my purple hue in a way that sent the fast-becoming familiar warmth to spread within my chest.
This time I recognized it for what it truly was.
I wanted Oz to be mine. I wanted to get to know her-therealher. Not the villain I had crafted inside my head, or the girl she showed the world.
I wanted to know the one standing before me; every fear, every flaw, all her dreams and demons.
Electricity zipped along my wires. “If you’re mine, I will want to keep you.”
“You say that now,” Oz laughed. “You realize I’m trouble, right?”
I smirked. “Think I figured that out when you stormed in and put a plasma rifle to my head.”
“Never going to let that go, huh?”
“Sorry. I reserve the right to recall when I saw my female for the first time.”
“Your female? Moving a bit fast there, Technology Model. You haven’t even kissed me yet.”
“Allow me to rectify that.” My eyes zeroed in on her lush, red lips. If I leaned down and tasted them, would they reveal secrets about her I had yet to learn?
Never in my life did I think I could feel like this. That I would willingly want another’s mouth on mine, but instead of my processors screaming in fear they were howling with pure need.
I had to know.
“Would you allow me the honor?” I would never take what Oz wasn’t willing to give. My manufactured breath sat frozen in my lungs.
My heart had ceased its beat as everything I’d ever known hinged on her reply.
“No one has ever thought it was an honor to kiss me.”
I let out a low growl. “Then they were stupid.”
“I have a few other words for them, but stupid works.” She gave a little laugh then her eyes turned serious. “Kiss me, Viper.”
Those words restored the breath to my lungs, and I swooped down to capture her lips with my mine.
I threaded my fingers through her hair, tugging her closer as our lips met in a tangle of unspoken want that sent my circuits spinning.
It lasted mere seconds and when she pulled back to catch her breath, I fought the urge to chase her lips, not wanting it to end.
My eyes widened as I felt pathways and lines of code rearrange themselves inside my head.
Oz had hacked my processors, but with one kiss, she had altered the very core of my existence.
I slowly released a breath, staring at Oz unabashedly, any words I longed to say remaining frozen on my lips.
