Lee Ann smiles.
“We haven’t officially met yet and seeing as how my two best friends don’t seem like they are going to introduce me, I’m Taffy.”
Blue grins at Taffy as he stretches out his hand to cover mine that’s lying next to my plate.
“Nice to meet Siena and Lee Ann’s best friend,” he quips.
“If I knew that you were coming over, I would have made something more than fried chicken and chips,” Taffy says with a frown directed at me.
“Don’t blame me; I didn’t know he was coming.”
“Fried Chicken is fine, and Siena didn’t know.” The way his thumb is stroking the top of my hand has me distracted, the only thing I want right now is for him to kiss me again. “I just couldn’t stay away for another minute without seeing her.”
His sweet talking has Taffy grinning. “And whatever are you going to do for a whole weekend without seeing her?” Taffy asks as she lifts a piece of chicken to her mouth.
“I don’t need to worry about that because I will be with her.” I frown as I look over at Lee Ann. What does he mean, and how can he possibly know where we’re going when I still don’t?
“And where exactly do you think we’re going?” I ask.
“To my home. Didn’t Lee Ann tell you?” He glances at my sister and then back at me.
“Umm no, we haven’t really had time to talk.” This revelation has my stomach knotting. When were they thinking of telling me? When we were already there?
“The idea was to go somewhere relaxing, to spend time together. How do you see us going to Blue’s home, wherever that may be, relaxing?” I don’t want to sound angry, but I was hoping to have some alone time with my sister.
“You said I should choose. It sounds perfect, so I told them we would go.”
“Them?”
“Yes. Frost, Goliath, Fang, and Dixon.” Lee Ann shrugs. “They said it’s the perfect place to rest, with wildlife and quiet for miles around.” Wildlife indeed. I can just imagine what wildlife they were talking about.
“Where do you live?”
“It’s just outside Umkomaas, and everything Lee Ann says is true.” He leans towards me, his gaze holding mine, “If you want a place that’s quiet and be able to relax, there’s nowhere better than at our Club.”
“Club?” I thought he said it would be quiet. “How can it be quiet if it’s a club?”
“Trust me.”
I frown. “Is that supposed to make me feel better?”
Now it’s his turn to frown, his hand tightening on mine.
“I googled it. It really does look beautiful there,” Lee Ann intervenes. “You said I should choose, so I chose.” She’s right, and after the way she has been these last couple of months, I’m pleased that she actually did make a choice.
“Fine. Do we need an address?” I ask with a raised brow.
“You won’t need one, we will be accompanying you.”
I frown at Blue. “I thought you had a show tomorrow night?”Did I get my days mixed up?
“Yes, I do, and that’s also why I’m here. I want you to wait and leave on Saturday morning so I can accompany you. Otherwise, I will have to ride down alone because the others will be going with you.”
“What?” First, I’m forced to take my weekend off with a bunch of bikers, which to be honest, I don’t really know. And even though they seem nice, they also seem really dangerous. Secondly, I’m going to lose a whole day of a weekend away, waiting for him?
“I know it’s a whole day you lose, so, I have organized for you to be treated at the Spa at the hotel I’m staying at, you too Taffy if you want to go?”
What? Oh, he’s good.I can see the smile on Lee Ann’s face and the excitement in Taffy’s eyes. He knows exactly what he’s doing, the sneaky low life.
