“Well honey, I have never heard of a man called Dash. Is that short for something?” and I nearly laugh out loud when I think of what she would say if I had to say dashing, because even though his name isn’t short for that, he sure is dashing.

“No mom, that’s his name.”

“Some parents really have a strange way of calling their kids,” I smile at her grumble, just as I hear a noise which leads me to believe that my father must have come inside from mowing the lawn. “Ted, its Alaska you won’t guess what she’s just told me.”

“No, honey, I won’t.” I smile as I hear my father’s amused voice.

“She met a man, umm, it is a man isn’t it?” she asks, which has me grinning at her words.

“Yes mom, it’s a man.”

“Poor guy,” I hear my Dad tease.

“Hey, I heard that,” I say loudly and hear him laugh.

“You will never guess what he’s called?” my mom says.

“I guess not,” he says, which has me shaking my head in amusement. My parents haven’t changed.

“Dash,”

“As in Dash after Alaska.” At his comment I finally burst out laughing. Only my Dad could come up with something like that.

“Exactly like that,” my mom quips and I hear her laugh too.

“You two are terrible,” I murmur.

“Well, I’m glad you have found someone Darling, and I hope that he treats you as well as your father has always treated me.”

“Mmm carry on, I’m liking this conversation,” I hear dad say.

“He does, he’s really good,” I say knowing that it's true, I might not know Dash for long, but I know that what he does is genuine. “Mom, I wanted to ask have any of you told anyone that I have moved here?”

“No, you know I hardly leave the house. Tim, have you told anyone where Alaska is?” I hear my father deny having told anyone, which has me sighing as I thought maybe the stalker had somehow found out from them.

“Why, have the paparazzi found you?” Mom asks in a concerned voice.

“No, I’m just asking,” I hear my Dad say something, but I can’t make out what it is as he must have walked away.

“Your Dad said that he thinks your brother told one of your school friends that you had moved when he bumped into him.” I tense, what school friend? I don’t really have any school friends that I keep in contact with.

“Do you know who it was?” I ask.

“No dear, but I’ll ask your brother tonight as he is coming over for dinner and then I will let you know.” This is more than likely just a simple curiosity from someone that I went to school with, but I would rather know just in case.

“Okay Mom, I will chat to you later. Love you,” I say, smiling as we disconnect.

DASH 15

“If we tell the cops, they will definitely think that we killed her,” I say as I place my elbows on the table. Lowering my head, I weave my fingers through my hair. These killings are becoming a real problem. Whoever the killer is he must have somehow figured out that we found his burial ground and now is trying to pin his handy work on us.

I can feel my body vibrating with anger when I think of the poor woman lying in the shallow grave, we don’t know who this one is, but whoever she is she was killed by the same killer because a strip of her skull has been cut off and missing.

“We can’t just leave her there,” Dixon says angrily.

“Why the fuck would he bring her here?” Fang asks as he throws up his hands in agitation.

“I think this has become a sick game to him,” King states. “But at least we now have a clue which we didn’t have before.” King is talking about the blue van that I saw, the killer won’t think that anyone saw him therefore we should be looking at everyone with blue van’s in town and vicinity.
