“Things change and get bigger, man. This is bigger than them,” I uttered. “I need you both here.”

“We’ll be there soon.”

I put the phone down and glanced to the side of me at Charlotte’s sleeping form by my side. I’d do anything so we could have a normal life; anything. Even let her go through with this crazy plan.

I kissed her gently, rousing her sleeping form from underneath me while I tried to ignore the way my dick stirred at her sleepy moans as she stretched and fluttered her eyelashes at me.

“Kitten…” I breathed.

“Hmm.” She moaned, trailing her fingers along my chest.

“The guys are on the way but first, let’s book a venue for this party, shall we?” I kissed her lips again as she pulled herself to sit upright.

“The Avenue,” she replied before winking at me, “I know you can work with that.”

“I can.” I shuddered because what Charlotte didn’t know was The Avenue wasn’t just any venue. It was the one place I knew inside out. It was the place I’d done my training at and so had my crew. We knew every hiding spot, every nook and place a stalker would attempt to hide out at. This person was now heading onto our territory. “This is perfect. Let the games begin.”

ChapterTwenty-Three

Charlotte

The light that appeared in Xander’s eyes the moment I mentioned The Avenue was unreal. I’d spent time researching various places to decide where to host the extravagant party for my birthday to lure my stalker but I couldn’t help but keep disregarding them. Some of my reasons may have seemed picky but this was my life I was balancing and nothing but perfection would do. The moment that I saw The Avenue though, I knew it was the one place it had to be held but my only issue was availability.

Xander told me he’d deal with it and I had no reason to doubt that he couldn’t. He had his own connections and means of getting what he needed and I had my own. It made sense for us to use our resources and pull them together.

I knew that time was running out and if this was going to work, I’d need to start focusing on each task at hand. Xander was going to deal with what he knew best: Security. Barrett and Memphis were on the way to discuss the plan with him whilst I had more pressing matters to address.

I needed to start my guest list and then begin to lay down the plans for my trap.

“Xander…” I didn’t think to wait until the guys had left before I curled myself onto his lap, stopping him mid-sentence. “Sorry guys.”

“It’s no problem. Is it?” Xander raised his brow at the men as they stood up from their chairs.

“None at all. Is it okay if I just grab a drink from the kitchen?” Memphis asked.

I trailed my finger down Xander’s stubbled face before moving to his lips as his eyes widened. “I didn’t mean to scare them off,” I said sweetly before I covered his mouth with a chaste kiss.

Xander reached for the back of my neck and deepened the kiss. “You’re trouble. You know that?” he sighed. “I was telling them about the plans and figuring out the best way to execute it. I’ve already got confirmation of The Avenue booking.”

“That was quick!” I said in shock.

“Contacts, kitten.” He smirked.

“I just wanted to say I’m going to be heading to the stretch and the line of boutiques soon. I was going to take Cass with me,” I admitted. Xander’s grip tightened on my waist and he rubbed my ass against his hard length. “Kitten, you know that even though you’re a genius, I’m not letting you go there without me attending with you.”

“Why is that?” I pouted as Xander brushed his thumb across my lips.

“Doing that with your mouth…” He circled his hips underneath me. “It just teases me more. It doesn’t get you out of anything. It just makes me imagine dirty, wicked things I could do with that pouty mouth of yours.”

“No fair.” I sulked, crossing my arms across my chest in a huff.

“You know that if one of us isn’t present,” he said, “the game is up immediately…”

“Yeah, you’re right,” I admitted, pushing myself to stand up and turning in his arms as he widened his legs and grabbed my ass. “I guess I’ll just have to ask your opinion on each and every outfit I try on then, won’t I?”

“Kitten…” He growled as the guys walked back in with smirks on their faces. “Call Cass and give her the news. Be ready in an hour. I’ve just got a few things to finish here with the guys.”

“Of course.” I swung my hips as I walked away before peeping over my shoulder and noticing Xander’s gaze hadn’t left my ass since I headed for the door.
