“It was.” Now that he’d satisfied the beast, the depth of what he felt for her welled inside of him, filling the vacuum it had left behind. He pressed a kiss to her forehead, willing his system to settle so he could see to her needs. “Thank you. I know I was hard on you.”

Physically, because he’d pushed her past what she was used to with the crop. But emotionally as well, with the way he’d deliberately humiliated and degraded her.

“It was, at times. But it was also hot as fuck.”

Hearing the words out loud, directly from her, helped to ease some of the guilt nagging at the back of his mind. “Good. Does that mean you’d be open to being Daddy’s little whore again?”

“I think so, yes. It was humiliating and I hated it, but I loved it at the same time. I know that’s probably weird. I’m weird.”

“No.” Placing a finger under her chin, he forced her head up so she could see the truth in his eyes. “There is nothing wrong with enjoying what we did tonight. While it might not be what others would consider ‘normal’, it’s also nothing to be ashamed of. Understood?”

“I guess.”

“Hmmm. What would you tell Gabby if she was in your shoes, wondering if she was weird for liking some rough, kinky sex?”

“I’d tell her to fuck what everyone else thinks and as long as it’s consensual to enjoy herself.”

“There you go.” Lowering his head, he brushed a soft, reassuring kiss across her lips. “Just tell yourself that whenever you start to feel like there’s something wrong with you. And if you need reminding, I’ll be happy to help.”

“Why do I feel like said reminders would probably take place with me over your lap?”

“Because you’re a smart woman, Ace. Come on.” Forcing himself to roll out of bed, he gathered her up in his arms. “Let’s get you cleaned up and we can go see about dinner.”

“Awww.” She fluttered her lashes at him. “And here I thought I could wear these lovely pearls to dinner.”

Laughing, he made his way toward the bathroom. “I’ll get you a real set and you can wear them as often as you want.”

“Deal.”

ChapterNineteen

Despite her teasing, she was rather happy to feel fresh and clean again as she settled on the couch with a glass of wine. The sex had been even better than usual, but she wasn’t a fan of being sticky any longer than necessary. Curled up with her legs tucked under her while he placed the order for their food, she swiped open her phone for a quick check of her emails and messages.

No major news stories had broken while she’d been getting pounded into oblivion, for which she was grateful. The most pressing message was from Gabby, asking about a girls’ night.

I miss your face and I need all the dirty deets on your sexy lawyer Daddy. Dinner tomorrow?

Grinning at the message, Mina typed out a quick response.

Absolutely. Just say when and where.

Excellent. With any luck, I’ll have my own sexy secrets to share. XOXO

Knowing Gabby, there would most certainly be some salacious gossip about her date for the evening, unless the guy turned out to be a total asshole. Of course, sometimes the assholes made for the best stories, so really, it was a toss-up with Gabby.

“Dinner will be about an hour,” Cyrus said, his tone apologetic as he joined her on the couch with his own glass in hand. “I should have taken care of that earlier. I’m sure I can scrounge up some snacks if you’re hungry.”

“I can wait.” Her stomach was rumbling a bit, but she had more important things on her mind. Setting her phone aside, she shifted to face him more fully. “So, are you going to tell me what happened?”

Beside her, he tensed. Only for a moment before he relaxed against the cushions, but because she was watching him, she caught the subtle change.

Interesting.

“What makes you think something happened?”

“Please don’t insult my intelligence, Cyrus. I read people for a living, and I can certainly tell when the man I’ve been fucking as often as humanly possible has a bug up his ass.”

“I’ll refrain from the obvious jokes about putting things upyourass, since you happen to be right. As usual.”
