“What would get me a real punishment?”

Oh, how he loved that curious nature of hers. “Putting yourself in danger. Lying to me, especially about your health or safety. Disobedience, especially if it results in either of the previously mentioned offenses.”

“What if I think you’re being unreasonable about my ‘health and safety’?”

“We can discuss your concerns before any punishment is handed down, but at the end of the day, my decisions are final. You can still call ‘Red’, though, even during a punishment if it is more than you can take.”

“I suppose that’s fair. As long as you’re not planning on ordering me around all the time.”

“Trust me, I’m well-practiced in picking my battles, especially with brats like yourself. Are you ready for the rest of your spanking?”

She sighed but, to his delight, didn’t argue. As much as he was enjoying having her over his knee, he wasn’t in the mood to escalate her playful spanking to anything more serious at the moment.

And because she didn’t argue, he kept the next few rounds about the same. Hard enough to have her whining in protest and her bottom wiggling over his lap as the pink turned darker and darker, but not anywhere near enough to bring her to tears.

By the time he finished, capping off the spanking with a half dozen swats to the sensitive crevice between her ass and thighs, she was panting for breath, but didn’t appear to be in any true distress.

Before he could reward her, however, the doorbell rang.

“Oh, you havegotto be fucking kidding me,” she said with a groan, dropping her forehead to the couch cushion.

“Sorry, Ace. Looks like the rest will have to wait until after dinner.”

Lifting her head to look over her shoulder again, she scowled. “If you’re going to make me wait, you better be planning to have me for dessert.”

“That sounds like an excellent idea.”

ChapterSix

Whatever he’d ordered for dinner smelled delicious, but she had zero interest in food. For all she cared, they could have gotten fast food burgers if it meant getting his hands on her sooner.

If she’d known getting her ass spanked and being called a naughty girl would have turned her on this much, she would have tried getting freaky years ago. Then again, she couldn’t imagine any of the men she’d dated before having nearly the same effect on her that Cyrus had. There was just something different about him, though she couldn’t put her finger on exactly what it was.

All she was really certain of in that moment was that she couldn’t wait to get his mouth on her. Every time she shifted on the couch, the warmth in her backside would reignite just enough to have her pussy throbbing again.

“You know, it seems unfair that you’ve learned so much about me and I still know almost nothing about you.” From his seat beside her, Cyrus watched her through those hooded eyes, lazily twirling noodles around his fork.

“What do you want to know?” It was almost a relief to engage in the normal “first date” small talk. Maybe it would take some of her attention away from how badly she wanted to jump his bones.

“Where are you from?”

“A small town in Virginia, just a couple hours south of here. You already know I have two younger siblings, a brother and a sister. We also had a smattering of animals at any given time.”

“A…smattering.”

“Yeah.” Wiggling a bit to face him, she fought not to blush when she was reminded once again of being over his knee just a few short minutes ago. “At least two dogs, always. A cat or two. Our bird, Oliver, who we’ve had forever but I’m still fairly certain will outlive all of us. Ah, let’s see, my sister had fish growing up and my brother had a couple hamsters that turned into dozens of hamsters because they werenotboth boy hamsters as the pet shop had assured us. We gave most of them away, though.”

“That sounds,” he paused, as if searching for a word that wouldn’t offend her, “colorful.”

“It was.” She grinned, unable to resist teasing him just a little. “I mean, we didn’t grow up with private schools and a chauffeur, but we were happy.”

“I see you’ve done your research.” There was no censure in his tone, but it had the hair on the back of her neck standing up all the same. Clearly, his childhood was still a touchy subject.

It hurt, more than she cared to admit. After all, she’d trusted him enough to let him spank her and nearly make her come, but he couldn’t trust her enough to let those walls down just a smidge?

“I did,” she replied, matching his neutral tone. “I’m guessing that family money is how you afford this amazing house on an ADA salary.”

“How I afford anything is none of your concern.”
