"One, two, three, ta-da!"

Relief and awe swept over her. Instead of the bright pink she'd been expecting, her hair was more of a rose color. The highlights she already had bumped up the color in places, but overall, it was lovely. "I love it."

"Really?" Ro sagged dramatically against the doorframe. "Oh, thank God. I was worried you might have a meltdown."

"No, no." Turning her head, she fluffed her hair and admired the gorgeous color. "It's perfect. Subtle and somehow still elegant. I think I might have regretted anything bolder."

"I thought so, too. Something told me to pick this up when I was getting the purple for myself the other day." Ro shook her head, showing off her newly tipped ends. "I'm so glad you like it."

"I love it." She watched her lips curve in the mirror. "Hopefully, Daddy will, too."

Chapter 7

When he walked into the completely silent house, the hair on the back of Jason's neck stood on end. "Something's wrong."

"Yeah." Luca looked around, his eyes narrowed. "Too quiet."

"Rowena!" Walking into the kitchen, Octavius called for his wife.

Luca followed. "Teagan Anne! Front and center!"

Silence.

"Fuck." Heart pounding, Jason dropped the bags he was holding and raced for the stairs. "Evie!"

More silence.

"Evie!" Throwing open the door to her room, fear coated his stomach when he found it empty.

His room was across the hall, so he turned and yanked the door open—and nearly fell to his knees with relief when he found her there, laid out on his bed like a pagan offering, with a mischievous smile on her face.

The relief helped temper the anger making itself known, now that he knew she was safe. "What do you think you're doing?"

Her smile spread and she gestured to the lacy tank top and panties he'd just realized she was wearing. "Waiting for you. Daddy," she added after a heartbeat.

Sweet Jesus. She was going to be the death of him. "You're sure?"

"I've never been this sure of anything in my life."

"Thank God. Found mine!" he called downstairs before slamming the door shut behind him.

"Found your what?"

"My little girl." He started for the bed with slow, deliberate steps. "Did you and your sisters think it would be funny to play a prank on your Daddies?"

Her cheeks turned pink under his stern gaze. "Maybe."

"Hmm. And what do you think happens to naughty little girls who try to scare their Daddies?"

"Umm. Nothing?" The color on her cheeks darkened.

"Nothing?" Stopping beside the bed, he placed a finger under her chin and tilted her face up. "Try again, tesoro."

Her eyes went glassy. "They get spanked?" she whispered.

"Yes, they do." Running the pad of his thumb over her lower lip, he studied her, looking for the slightest hint of hesitation. "How do you feel about going over my knee for a long, hard spanking?"

"But, Daddy." Her mouth moved into a perfectly practiced pout. "We were just having fun."
