Camille,13 years old
It's been two weeks since finding out Dean had sex with Sadie in his room that day, and a complete silence on my end. I must've walked in at the end, considering they were fully dressed.
Either that or after he chased me, he went back to her, and then they had sex.
No, it had to be before.
Dean wouldn't go and have sex with her after I caught them.
Would he? I don't know anymore. I didn't think Dean would even have sex with anyone but me on our wedding night, but clearly, I was wrong. I gave him too much credit, and now I know that he's just like all the other horny guys at school that Spencer always tells me about.
My heart broke when I saw him and Sadie together, and it continued to break when I had to ignore him.
Every call, text, and knock on my door. I ignored it all. His apology texts were too much, so I blocked him. I cried when I blocked his number and erased him from my phone like a baby. I was impulsive and deleted all our texts and pictures together.
Spencer had helped me back up my phone a few days before, so the pictures aren't gone forever, but they're off my phone, and that's all that matters. I don't care that the photos are saved on my computer. I can delete those later, too.
I'm sitting at the airport waiting for my parents to return with my hot chocolate and snack. Spencer is away somewhere talking to Dallas on the phone again for the fifth time since this morning, and stupid Dean is sitting right across from me. His traitorous parents went to the coffee shop with my parents and left us behind.
We're going to Cancun for two weeks to celebrate the end of summer and going back to school. When we return from vacation, I'll start ninth grade, and Spence and Dean will begin their senior year. Our parents wanted to do something special to celebrate, so they've been planning this trip for months. I had been so excited and did as much research as I could on Cancun and the things the three of us could do.
Now I only need activities for two.
Spencer is upset that Dallas’s parents wouldn't let him come with us, and our parents wouldn't let her stay home, so I promised her that she could hang out with Dean and me and she wouldn't even be the third wheel.
Everything was planned, but stupid Dean had to ruin the would-be fun trip. He had to go and have sex with Sadie and ruin everything, our friendship included because he is no longer my best friend.
I should make it official and tell him that, but I can't bring myself to even speak to him.
He broke my heart.
Just do it. Make him feel as bad as you. He deserves it.
After giving myself an inner pep talk, I unfold myself from the chair and walk over to where he sits directly across from me.
Standing in front of him, I cross my arms over my chest and look down at him with a scowl when his hazel eyes look up, more brown than usual.
"Camille, can we please talk?"
"Shut up. I'm doing the talking. I just want you to know that I officially hate you and that you're not my best friend anymore. And we're not going to get married. Oh, and I hope Sadie gives you an STD that you'll never get rid of, and your penis falls off." I flip him off, then turn and walk away from him before he has a chance to respond to my outburst.
My eyes sting with unshed tears, but I refuse to let my guard down in front of him and let him see my cry. The moment I run away, my tears spill over.
Breathing heavily, I run away from him and right in Lydia's arms, who is walking toward me. She wipes my tears away, holding me lovingly in her arms.
"What's wrong, sweetie?"
"Where's my mom?" I hiccup, unwilling to tell her why I'm crying. I haven't told our parents anything that's been going on, but I know they suspect something because Mom keeps asking me why she hasn’t seen Dean around lately.
“She’s still in line at the I with your dad. What’s wrong?" I shake my head and wrap my arms around her, hugging her tightly.
Not wanting to walk into the cafe while crying, I decide to spill the beans and tell Lydia what's wrong. "Dean and I are no longer friends.”
"Sweetie, what is going on between you two? You always work things out. This is the longest time you two have been apart." From behind her body, I spot Dean walking toward us, but Lydia's back is to him, so she can't see him. With a venomous snarl, I pull back, look him right in the eyes, and tell Lydia exactly what happened, all the while keeping eye contact with Dean.
"We're not friends anymore because he had sex with Sadie. In his bedroom, and I caught them," I say as she gasps. "She gave him an STD, and she might be pregnant, but that's not yet confirmed." I lie about the last part but fuck him.
"That's not true! Camille, what the hell? You know that's not true!" Dean exclaims, throwing his hands in the air. Poor Lydia goes as white as a ghost. I run off toward the cafe to find my parents, not caring if Dean gets in trouble with his mother.
