“If you think I haven’t enjoyed every second I’ve spent touching you, kissing you and coming deep inside you—”
“I don’t think that. I know you have, but have you ever just completely stopped thinking and directing everything?”
I wanted to lie, but I was sure he would know. “Jacob—”
“Do you think you can let go now?”
He was fucking relentless, and I loved that about him. “I’m not sure.”
“Could you do it for me?”
I pulled him to me. “You really are something.”
“I’m your something, and I want you to stop taking care of everyone for just a few minutes.”
“I want more than a few minutes of you.”
“Fine, a few hours.”
“At least.”
Jacob frowned. “If you plan to keep me out here all night, you’d better let someone know.”
“I already texted Rhys so he would know where we were.”
“So we aren’t really hidden.”
“We’re better off with him knowing. Do you really think he and Rogue wouldn’t come looking for us if we disappeared after all that’s happened?”
“And now they won’t?”
“Not unless there’s a major emergency, and there damn well better not be one.”
Jacob nodded. “We deserve some quiet time.”
“Are you sure you can handle the real, raw me with nothing holding me back? You saw what I did earlier. It’s hard for me to even trust myself when I let my instincts take over.”
“I know.”
“What if I hurt you?”
“You won’t. You need this and so do I. I deserve the real you. All of you.”
“You’ve had that.”
I raised my brows. “Have I?”
Why was he so damn perceptive? “I don’t know if I can. If you see all of me, then—”
“Grant, give me this. Please. I love you, and I want you to be comfortable with me.”
“I… I love you too, Jacob, so much that it scares me.”
“It scares me too, but I’m ready to jump into it.”
“You’re so fucking brave.”
I stared at him. “You do remember you led a force recon team, right?”
