Do I kill the omega or not?

“Well?” he badgers.

I stop, meeting his light brown gaze. One of his brows pulls up, yet my face remains a mask of concrete.

“The omega lives.”

Roman’s eye twitches, and I can tell he's resisting the urge to use his dominance over me, bending me to his will. But he knows me better than that.

He knows I could easily challenge him for his position as pack leader any day, but I prefer to give him the limelight. He’s the one blessed with the silver tongue, after all, doing all of our business deals for us. I prefer to lurk in the shadows, the silent killer of the group.

It's obvious he doesn’t agree with me. I know he wants the omega gone in some form or other, but I have made up my mind.

Her heart doesn’t stop beating. And we don’t get 50k. So now he will have to find the money for Granny Cobra some other way.

One that doesn’t involve that omega’s eyes shutting forever.

“Very well. I think you’re making a mistake, Sebastian, but I won’t question your motives. Just be careful. It appears that omega already has you wrapped around her little finger. Remember what happened the last time an omega took advantage of you?”

I hover closer until we’re nose to nose, and Roman stiffens when I send him a wave of angry alpha energy. A choking scent of burnt coal fills the hallway next, but Roman holds his ground.

“I won’t let myself be taken advantage of.”

Roman’s upper lip tics and I can tell he’s holding back. But as always, he puts up a formidable front, letting me have my way.

Finally, I turn away from him and disappear to my room.

I will sleep like a baby tonight. Well, after the night terrors subside.

Daphne still fills my dreams, even after all these years.
