“What? This is an outrage. It should bemeup there, not him. He’s a weasel!”
Silver growls at the female as she insults our mate.
That bitch.
How dare she. The poor guy is in a state of shock, so he barely hears Natasha’s protests.
She honestly thought that she was going to be chosen. I can feel Chelsea and Annabel tensing up beside me as she glares at the stage, and it’s no surprise they look guilty.
Why should they be? It’s not their fault that she’s even less popular than they are now.
They have nothing to be guilty for. The two females may have tormented me too, but I will not stand by while she rules over them both with an iron fist.
They’re her last claim to power. She has lost a lot of her former prestige, even though we both won our challenge fair and square.
But her fanbase has dwindled and has even started defecting to my side. No one likes her anymore.
The crowd boos as there’s nothing shifters hate more than a sore loser. That was why Brent almost lost his standing. He’s regained it again now, especially after he showed those human kids mercy.
As he balls his fists beside me, glaring down at Natasha, my body heats. I can sense his power; that thick, wood-smoke scent of his as I’m tempted to consummate our bond.
But the male won’t have me. He made his feelings perfectly clear.
Alpha Graeme ignores Natasha and calls on Patrick. “Well, Patrick Green. Are you coming? Your chance to shine...”
My heart goes out to my mate as he gazes up at the stage with glassy eyes, looking like a deer in the headlights.
How I wish I could go down there and walk him up the stairs, but he has to do this alone. The crowd is cheering his name; he can’t lose the respect that he’s finally earned.
He nods, and just as he makes a move for the stage, Natasha blocks him.
Silver snaps into action. I bare my fangs, keeping my gaze on her. If she dare lays a finger on my mate...
I’m not the only one. Hunter even looks ready to tear her apart. Brent joins in on the Natasha hate train too.
The crowd sneers. It’s her downright disrespect of the game that has them all pissed.
Patrick won’t touch her. He has too much honor. But most males in our pack would have shoved her aside by now, and she knows it.
