“Yes, Friday night is a movie and popcorn night. Saturday we are doing manicures and pedicures, then we have tickets to the Kids Bop concert. Sunday is brunch and then home,” she finished.
“Sounds like a full weekend and I agree with your husband, there is no way I would want to be in a house full of little girls all weekend.”
“Right, but even more than that, I want the girls to feel secure.”
“I appreciate that. I’m a single dad, so most of this little girl stuff is new to me. I don’t want to stunt their social growth, but I also need to protect them.”
“I hear you. Why don’t you and the girls come over to our house for dinner? You could meet my husband and my kids and see the house to hopefully ease your mind about the party?” Sallie said.
Knowing that this party was important to my girls, I decided to explore all avenues before rendering my final decision.
“What day do you have free?” I asked while looking at my calendar.
“What about Wednesday evening? I know it’s a school night, but it’s the best day to catch my entire family at home,” Sallie explained.
“Wednesday works for me,” I responded.
“Great, is seven o’clock good for you?”
“Yes, that works for me.”
“Okay, we will see you at seven on Wednesday. If you have something to write with, I will give you our address,” Sallie said.
I took down her address then finished the call.
I sent a quick text message to Cam.
I took your advice and called Patty’s mom.
She replied immediately.
Good listening, Friend. How did it go? – Cam

I typed out my quick response and quickly tucked my phone into my pocket.
“Okay, guys, let’s get this meeting started,” I said to the stylists and barbers ofWhip N’ Fade.
