“We can’t, Ciara—.”

“Has so many toys right now that she isn’t going to notice you two gone for half an hour or so. The food will be ready to pray over in forty-five minutes. If you can’t work it off by then, I guess we’ll put it on the stove.” Gio stands and winks, putting his hand on my shoulder. “We will have a proper chat later.”

Saint’s hands grip my hips as his head hits my chest. “I’m sorry I fucked this up.”

Gio laughs. “If you’d fucked it up, I wouldn’t be encouraging you to ravage her.” He smiles. “That you care means more than anything else. Toney, you did good, honey. Saint, I look forward to further speaking.” Grabbing his cane, he reaches for Tobey, who had returned, presumably from telling the caters to get back to work.

“Thank you, Giovanni. I look forward to our chat, preferably without so much excitement.”

“Nonsense, it’s the most action I’ve seen in years.”

I drop my head, stifling a laugh. I’m dead, totally done.
