Which they did before wrecking the bed in a way she would have been certain only thirty minutes before she was too tired to do.
CHAPTER TWELVE
THEYDIDTAKEa shower before dinner, and Jenna was delighted to find that he’d had her cases put on the yacht before her arrival.
She changed into a loose maxi dress that clung to her in elegant lines but would also be comfortable for travel later.
Dima’s eyes warmed with approval before he crossed the room to kiss her. “Time to eat, but I would rather muss the bed again.”
Staff had come in while they were in the shower, and the bed looked as pristine as when they first arrived. “That is kind of scary, you know?”
“Scary?”
“Having staff so efficient they change the bed while you are in the shower.”
Dima made a noncommittal sound, but it was clear he was used to that kind of invasive pampering.
Jenna wondered if she could get used to it and shook her head.
“What are you saying no to in your mind?” he asked, showing yet again how good he was at reading her.
She was always pleased when he was stumped at what she was thinking.
“I don’t think I could get used to having staff that invasively efficient.”
“So give instructions for them not to enter our quarters when we are still in them.” He said it like that was a no-brainer.
“I can’t give instructions to your staff.”
“Of course you can.”
“I wouldn’t feel right.”
“Jenna, we are going to be spending two weeks together in Abu Dhabi. If you do not make your wishes known to the staff, it will not be the vacation either of us wants it to be.”
“You said you weren’t taking a vacation.”
“Only working a few hours a dayisvacation for me.”
“You are a workaholic.”
“Hmm...and what does that make you?”
“My family says I am a workaholic.” Especially Lisa, who was content to live by the schedule of the farm but found any other pressure to conform to a calendar or timetable anathema.
“You are driven.”
“I have been. Luke is worse.”
“He would have had to put in hours longer than even I do to build his company as quickly as he did.”
“I worry about him.”
“Why exactly?”
“You think you know, but you want to hear what I say,” she guessed. She loved...likedthat about him. He might think he could read her mind, but he still asked.
“Yes.”
