“Insurance,” I said. “I would hate for these to end up online.”

“Fine, take as many as you want. Just let me go,” he bargained, the light from overhead streaming down on him.

“How does it feel to be powerless? At the mercy of someone else?” I knew I’d hit my mark.

He dropped his head back against the pole, eyes bloodshot. “You’re both crazy bitches. You know that?”

My grin was evil. “Takes a crazy to know one.”

“Here.” Kenna tossed me something small from her bag. “Go crazy.”

I caught the permanent marker and lifted a brow. What did she want me to do with this? It took me a second, and then I glanced to Carter. His nakedness was a blank canvas waiting to be painted.

I grinned, pulling off the cap. This was an added element to my plan that I could get behind. “Hold still,” I told him, not that he would put up much of a fight. The sleeping pills were deep in his system now, making him nearly delusional, but he held onto consciousness like the stubborn ass that he was.

Picking up her spray can, Kenna began to write over the grass with bold, pink letters while I attacked his forehead. I wrote as many vile words as I could think of over his chest, arms, and legs until he looked like a living piece of art. “I am a rapist” splashed in large pink letters on the grass in front of him.

My phone buzzed in my pocket, but I ignored it, securing the cap back on the marker. I had an inkling who would be blowing up my phone at this hour, and I wasn’t ready to deal with him yet. If I was right, then my time here was up. The Calvary was on its way. “We need to hurry,” I said to Kenna, passing her a look.

She finished the last few touches before we took a step back to admire our handiwork. Kenna put her hand in front of her face, blocking Carter’s shrunken dick from her view as she surveyed our masterpiece. “You did good, sis.”

The corners of my mouth twitched. “Ditto.” I withdrew my phone. “Say cheese,” I told Carter, lifting my camera and snapping a dozen photos or so. “This will look great in the school yearbook. What do you think, Kenna?” I asked, showing her the phone.

“No senior year is complete without an epic prank. I’d say we win.” She slung her arm around my shoulder. “I think our work here is done.”

We gathered our shit off the ground, collecting any evidence, and the entire time Carter wouldn’t shut up as he begged us to set him free. Didn’t he get it? This was part of the plan. The fun really began tomorrow morning when the entire school witnessed firsthand our creation.

“Hey! You can’t leave me here!” he screamed as Kenna and I trotted off toward the school.

“Can’t we?” I shouted over my shoulder.

“Who’s going to stop us?” Kenna yelled back.

“I’ll freeze to death!”

I spun around, walking backward, and hollered, “Not tonight you won’t.” We were having an unseasonal warm evening. He might suffer a little. “Besides, I’m sure someone will find you before any serious or permanent damage happens.”

Kenna grabbed my hand, and I swung forward, jogging across the grass, letting the darkness swallow us up. We giggled, feeling pretty fucking happy with ourselves. “I can’t believe we pulled that off.”

“God, it felt great,” I admitted.

Kenna opened her mouth but quickly snapped it closed as we turned the corner, a beam of headlights landing directly on Kenna and me. I had the urge to lift my hands in the air and wait to be arrested. It had that kind of vibe.
