She pulls back from kissing me and bites her lip, holding back a scream, as I thrust into her again, quickening my pace. I can feel myself on the brink of exploding but I don’t want to rush Lacy. I want to enjoy every second, and I want her to enjoy every second too.
This moment right here is real. This is us. This is how we are meant to be. Together. Joined. As one. And I never want this to end.
But we can’t hold back any longer.
“Now?” Lacy asks, the word just one exhaled breath of air.
I nod in reply, locking eyes with her as I quicken the pace, thrusting into her again, and again, and again—until suddenly, Lacy lets out a long, low scream, digging her hands into my shoulders with pleasure as she throws her head back. I groan as I experience my own orgasm, my body shuddering with the explosion of pent-up emotions and physical tension I’ve been carrying around. Afterward, I lean down and give Lacy a kiss. Her face is calm and happy, with a big smile that looks relaxed and confident. Her hair is going in every direction and her cheeks are a bright vibrant red, but her eyes are shining—and she’s never looked so beautiful.
“You’re gorgeous,” I whisper, as I roll off her and pull her into my chest. I spoon her, nuzzling my face into her hair and soak up that strawberry-scented shampoo aroma. Slowly, my breathing calms down. I can feel the rise and fall of Lacy’s back against me as she inhales and exhales. Eventually, our breathing slows and matches, as we breathe in and out together, as one. I can feel my eyelids getting heavy post orgasm and am just drifting off when Lacy’s sleepy voice drifts over to me.
“Hey, do you remember that diary entry of mine you found?”
“Mmm, yeah, what about it?” I say, sleepily.
“Well, those words I wrote, and those feelings I had… I was writing about you.” I feel her tense up against me, waiting to hear my response.
“No way, Lace! This whole time, all these years, you had a thing for me?” I pull her closer into my chest and let the depth of this realization sink into me.
“Ha, I know. Ugh, I was so scared when you found that entry… I thought you’d know it wasyouI was writing about.”
“You totally got me Lace, I had no idea. And to think that I channeled those feelings into words for a song. You’ve been there all along for me, haven’t you?”
“I guess in a way I have. And those feelings, thesefeelings… I’m just so happy you were here at Rose Manor when I showed up that day. I didn’t know if we’d ever cross paths again.”
“Me too Lace, you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to me.”
“It must be fate, right?”
“Absolutely. You’re mine, and I’m yours. Forever. I love you, Lace.”
“I love you too, Ben. In fact, there’s only one thing that could make me love youevenmore.”
“What’s that?”
“If you make us Pancakes.”
I let out a big laugh, waking back up fully, surprised at the request.
“Is that the real reason you’re taking me back?” I ask with a grin as she flips over and turns to face me. “Because you’re such an awful cook and you miss my pancakes?”
“I mean, I’m not going to lie, it was a consideration in the decision-making process,” Lacy says cheekily, her eyes sparkling with amusement.
“Well, if pancakes is what it takes, then pancakes it is,” I say as I get up out of bed. “Shall I serve them to you in bed, madam?” I say with an exaggerated bow as I stand at the foot of the bed.
“No, I want to sit in the kitchen with you,” Lacy replies with a laugh as she clambers up. “I love watching you cook,” she says simply, as she stands on tiptoe and plants a quick kiss on my lips.
My heart skips a beat in response. This is exactly what I wanted. The sweet, mundane moments. Cooking in the kitchen. Making jokes in bed. Just life, at home, with Lacy. Simple and sweet. We rinse off quickly and get dressed, conscious of the fact that the realtor will still be stopping by. Otherwise, I would have happily just stayed naked all day, soaking up Lacy’s body with my eyes.
“How many do you want?” I ask Lacy as I start pouring the batter for the first pancake on the griddle.
“Let’s start with five.”
“Five?”
“Hey, I’m starving! You wore me out up there,” she says teasingly.
“Fair enough. Five it is.”
