“Thin crust pizza,” she reminded him.

“You have no idea what you’re missing. But thin crust it is.”

When they pulled up, the pizza parlor was packed. “Okay, this is when I see why you like take out. We could be done eating instead of standing here waiting for a table.”

Charles agreed. He called the hostess over and gave her their orders. He had been tempted to call the owner over and move up to the top of the waiting list. That would’ve backfired on him. With Rosslyn already calling out the difference in their financial standings, he didn’t want to enhance that.

So they would wait, but the take out order cut it to twenty minutes instead of an hour. A small compromise, but one nonetheless.

“If I had planned better, I’d have called ahead with a reservation,” Charles said.

“I don’t mind waiting. Where do you want to go to eat?”

My house.“We could go to the park.”

“Or maybe your house?”

Had he heard correctly or was it just what he’d hoped she’d say. “Are you sure?”

Rosslyn nodded. “My calf is still sore, and I thought maybe that offer to soak in your Jacuzzi might still be valid.”

What is taking this pizza so fucking long? His appetite just increased, but it wasn’t for anything the restaurant served.

“You should’ve told me you were still hurting. I can have them deliver the pizza if you want.” Because I’m okay with going to my apartment right now.

She smiled and said, “Trust me, I’m not that sore. Besides, I’m not going anywhere without that pizza. It smells delicious.”

Not half as good as you.“Are you free tomorrow night?”

She tilted her head up at him. “We haven’t finished our date tonight.”

“I know, but since you promised to give me one week. I’m hoping we can see each other every night.”

“You’re not afraid you’re going to get tired of seeing my face every day?” Rosslyn asked.

He was more afraid of how much he was going to enjoy it. “No. But I’m not doing all the work here. I planned the last two dates. It’s up to you tomorrow night.”

Her eyes got wide. “I planned last weekend. That should be enough to give me a pass on doing any more planning for a while. Besides, this is your city, not mine.”

“Okay, then you can make the plans this weekend since you were so creative last weekend.”

She sighed. “Charles, I know I just saw my parents, but I was hoping to go and see them again this weekend.”

“Sounds good.” She hadn’t actually invited him, so he was inviting himself. “You think Brandy has the room vacant again?”

Rosslyn blushed. “I’m not sure she would want us back.”

“There’s only one way to find out.”

“Can we leave early Saturday?”

“Of course. I know you want to spend more time with them.” He hated the fact her mother wasn’t doing well, so he would make sure to get there as often as she wanted to go.

“I do, but I was thinking we could do something different too.”

He wasn’t going to try to guess what she considered different. “What would that be?”

“Magnet fishing.”
