Chapter 10
Rory
Whatafreakin’night. The girls just kept getting drunker and drunker. I didn't know you could get so drunk off wine alone, but these girls are living proof you can.
Of course, the tattoo Sasha had for the bridal party to wear on our wrists that said, "I'm with Mandy's Bachelorette party. If you find me, buy me a drink" didn't help. The guys were buying the girls’ drinks left and right.
As the sober one, I made sure they got to their rooms, but to say I didn't have fun was an understatement. But I’ll get my fun tomorrow when they are all hungover, and I get to mess with them all day. It's the small things, right?
I finally make it back to my room and check my phone.
Weston: Let me know when you get back to your room. Hope your night is going better than mine.
Me:I doubt my night was much better. Who knew you could get so drunk off of wine?
Weston:You're back in your room?
Me:Yep, just got here, and my feet are thanking me for taking my heels off.
Weston:Have you been drinking?
Me:No, not a big wine person.
Weston:I'm on my way.
That's what I'm talking about. The perfect way to relax is in his arms. I check my hair and makeup to make sure they are still halfway decent, and thankfully they are. But I leave the dress on because I hope he was thinking about me in it all night. I know I’ve been thinking of him peeling it off of me.
There is a soft knock on my door, and I open it, and West walks in. When he closes the door behind him, I expect him to pin me to it, but he doesn't. So, I move to him and wrap my arms around his neck and pull him in for a kiss.
When his whole body tenses up, I stop. Something happened tonight. Something he doesn’t want to tell me but has to because I’ll find out from someone else.
"What happened, West?" I take a step back from him. "Did you guys end up at a strip club?"
"Nothing like that. In fact, I left the pool hall early and came back to my room, alone."
I relax knowing it wasn't a girl, so it can’t be too bad, right?
"Then what is it?"
He runs a hand through his hair, then turns and starts pacing the room.
"Nate hadn't had as much to drink as I thought. He pulled me aside and noticed I was distracted by my phone. Then he said I was different. You know how he is. Even when I said it was no big deal and we could talk after the wedding, he wouldn't drop it."
I start to get a sinking feeling in my stomach. He wouldn't have told Nate, right? I asked him not to, and we agreed to this.
"He kept pushing, and I hated being away from you tonight, so I took a chance. I told him I want to date you, that I'm serious about you and that we had started a relationship on the trip."
I wait for him to go on, but he doesn't.
"What did Nate say?"
"He said no. That you and I aren't going to happen."
He won't even look me in the eye now, which isn't like West.
"I didn't say anything, just let him walk away. That wasn’t the place to make a scene."
"Okay, then you will be at his room first thing in the morning and talk to him. Get this worked out before it goes any further."
