It’s funny, having a man watch me the way the songwriter does. Feels like some kind of cosmic joke, because all through high school and then for the last few years working on tours, I might as well have been invisible.

People used to bump my shoulder in the halls, and not because they were being rude—because they literally didn’t see me coming. One time, the deputy stage manager sat on my lap on the crew bus because he thought my seat was empty.

So, yeah. I’m used to being overlooked. Used to flying under the radar.
