Holly shivered. Their pleasure drew out more of her own. She was made for this. For them. If only he could figure out how to keep her.

Trent locked his arms around her. He wished it could be that easy.

The guys grabbed some extra napkins off the table and began to clean themselves up before tucking themselves away as if nothing out of the ordinary had just occurred when their lives had been altered forever.

“Soooo…that was fun.” Holly giggled. “Thanks.”

Trent’s heart melted where she laid her head to hide her telltale blush against his pecs.

As if they could sense his unusual selfishness or the need to take things cautiously, Owen and Lorenzo hesitated before crossing the gap between their chairs and the couch. Over Holly’s head, Trent shook his head no once.

They’d pushed her far enough for this first introduction to their wicked ways.

Maybe next time the guys could touch her, once she’d had a chance to process everything they’d done and decide if she wanted more without the influence of pheromones or serotonin flooding her brain.

After they’d had a chance to talk about what had happened and how she’d like to move forward. He hated the tiny sliver of himself that was worried if they fucked up this stuff, the very personal parts of their relationship, that he might lose out on either his business partner or his key to his father’s checkbook.

Disgusted with himself, he unintentionally tightened his grip on her, making her squirm away. “Ow.”

He hadn’t meant to hurt her. But his possessiveness, something he’d never experienced before, had the power to do that, and he had better remember it, too.

“Sorry.” He kissed her temple and relaxed his grip, settling into the cushions but keeping her as close as ever when he did. “You ready for bed?”

She laughed softly. “Yeah, but only if you actually mean for sleeping. I don’t think I could go another round if I tried. Not even if you say so this time.”

Trent chuckled too. “No worries. I’m all out of steam myself. That was…epic.”

“It was.” She kissed his jaw, then stared at Owen and Lorenzo dreamily.

“Come on, Moose.” He stood, lifting Holly, who instinctively wrapped her legs around him and rested her head on his shoulder, hugging him loosely as he made his way to his room.

When he got there, he laid her on the bed, then crawled in after her, using the voice command of the home automation system to turn the lights off, more thankful than he’d ever been in his life that he didn’t have to get up again or spend a moment away from her.

Instead, he rolled to his side and spooned her, circling one arm around her waist. He kissed her cheek, not entirely surprised to see her lashes lying heavy on her cheeks.

They’d have to talk about what they’d done, and what he’d like to do in the future, some other time. Tomorrow. Neither of them was capable of logic or consciousness right then.

And even if they had been, he’d be too scared of wrecking the mood and the rare satisfaction that coursed through him as he cradled Holly all night long with Moose curled up at their feet and his best friends not far away.

“Thanks for trusting me enough to meet your mom, finally.” Trent put his hand in his coat pocket, the other holding on to Moose’s leash. They walked at a brisk pace past tidy rock-garden lawns and palm tree landscapes even though she wished they were running in the other direction, back to his house and the bubble they’d been living in together.

“I didn’t exactly have a choice.” Holly tried not to pout.

“What does that mean?” His gorgeous blue eyes narrowed.

“Um, well, my mom insisted on meeting you. She said it’s to say thank you for everything you’ve done for her, but don’t be fooled.” She focused on their feet, which walked in sync without even trying. “She’s nosy. It’s been two weeks and she wouldn’t put up with my excuses a moment longer.”

“She wants to see what kind of creeper you’re shacking up with?” Trent’s frown only reinforced her belief that this was a horrible idea. He was already sensitive after the damage his family had wrought on his self-esteem and his ego. He didn’t need her mom giving him the third degree because she couldn’t believe someone would be as generous as Trent without serious strings.

“Pretty much. The fact that Andi, Kari, and their guys vouched for you is probably the only reason she hasn’t already called the police to come and rescue me from you.” Holly groaned.

Her mother was convinced that Trent secretly wanted her and was using the cash as some kind of leverage to hook up with her until he got bored. Holly couldn’t even deny they were sleeping together, because every moment they weren’t working on his plans or the business or securing some kind of pre-authorizations from the insurance company, they were getting it on. They both needed to decompress and endless orgasms worked pretty damn well for that.

Her mother knew her well enough to bust any attempt at a lie

“Let’s just say she doesn’t approve of me marrying—or whatever else—for a kidney.”
