“Don’t worry, Bella,” she looked back down at the cat, “I promise I’ll be the best mom ever.”

I could hear the truth in those words and I felt like this meant way more to her than I realized. The determination to be better than...well, her mom no doubt, was all over her face. I could relate to that though, my father had always been a bastard.

Then I nearly groaned because the idea of Maya as a mother was not one I fucking expected. My dragon loved the idea, offering an amused look at my slight panic. Not at the idea of having a kid with Maya but at having to add another person that we needed to watch over and protect. I had no doubt we could do it...but yeah, sometimes it just seemed like a lot.

I think Atlas was probably one of the only ones to realize how often I felt like that. I had the random urge to tell Maya about my worry but I didn’t want her to doubt me. Didn’t want her to ever think I couldn’t handle something for her. Because I could. I would handle anything and everything she ever needed, or problems she faced.

“You will,” I agreed and then chuckled, “plus she has seven dads.” My smile widened as Sai narrowed his eyes at me from where he could no doubt hear me. I knew the fucker wanted to be in here and he thought I was purposefully taking my time. And I was. The twins and Henry spent all day with her, I was bound to be a bit selfish.

“Can I bring her into the meeting?” she asked curiously.

“I want you in there, so yes,” I explained as the kitten crawled her way up Maya’s shoulder between us and buried her nose in the same hair I was. I smiled at that because even I had to admit it was cute.

“Are you sure you want me in there?” she asked seriously, “I don’t know anything about your business, Marco. I would love to learn but...”

“No ‘buts’,” I ran a hand over the back of her neck and examined her face. “If you are interested in the company then I want you to be able to work next to me. Even if it takes a bit of a learning curve. And if you aren’t interested, no big deal. Either way, the paperwork is being drawn up to make you a co-owner.”

Her eyes rounded as a panicked expression crossed her face. “What? Why?”

Alright, I almost laughed a bit at her expression but tried to rein it in, figured it wouldn’t do any good.

“Same reason you are being put on everything else. Every property and asset, you name it, you have legal rights to it, or will soon,” I smirked at her shocked face.

“Marco, I have no idea what to even do with any of that,” she frowned, looking overwhelmed.

“Still, I want you as an equal, baby girl, in all things. On top of that, if anything ever happened to me or any of the others, I would always want you to be settled and safe,” I stated softly.

Her eyes softened and she pressed a kiss to my lips. I tried to deepen it but she pulled back offering me a teasing smile. “Not in front of Bella.” She chided, sliding off my lap to go show the others in the hallway.

See? The cat was a cockblock. I muttered a curse and sat back in my leather chair, running a hand over my still extremely frustratingly hard cock.

Alright. I lied. Not in all things.

Equalexcept for when I had her bent over my lap, spanking her sweet ass for being a tease. And when I’m buried inside of her and she's moaning my name. When we’re in bed together I plan on absolutely owning her, to the fullest extent. I closed my eyes so I could stop imagining ripping through those delicate tights and flipping up her school skirt, fucking her right over the desk.

Shit. This was bad.

After a moment of trying to get myself under control, I stood and my eyes narrowed on the luxury vehicles pulling up outside. Alright, I may not have considered that Maya would have to be in the same room as these very human assholes. If they had understood mating shit they would leave her the fuck alone. As it stood, I didn’t trust them to do that.

“Baby girl,” I spoke, approaching everyone. As she turned, her eyes looking up at our height difference, Bella climbed her way up to sit on top of Maya’s head. Something my mate didn’t seem phased by in the least. I didn’t say anything but I did slide her wet leather jacket from her elegant shoulders, revealing her fucking perfect body.

It was unfair she could walk around in a skirt like that. I tossed the jacket down in my office and shrugged off my suit jacket, pulling it on her as she inhaled and sighed looking far more comfortable. I was glad she was warm and not in damp clothes but it wasn’t about that. No this was way more selfish. I needed to see her in my clothes.

She rolled the cuffs and then buttoned it in the center, somehow making it look sexy instead of like an oversized coat. The woman had a natural grace and elegance that women in Hollywood had tried to create for years.

Unfortunately, before I could make a second costume change, the door chimed and Henry’s eyes sparkled with amusement and excitement. The first being because of my failed attempt to cover Maya in my clothing and the second because he was thrilled to be at this meeting. Like I said, the guy was all about investing and arguing. He should have been a lawyer.

“You have this all handled?” Atlas asked as Maya walked next to Sai, their heads bent over the kitten as the twins attempted to pull Maya away from him. Which failed.

Croy and Henry were talking about something as they walked over to Henry’s office to no doubt grab something. I was positive that some type of argument would occur during this meeting, so Henry probably wanted all of his files and records just in case.

The three men appearing today weren’t my favorite, but they did a damn good job at running Washington, Oregon, and California’s branches. How the one from Oregon was the only one on time was past me. Humans were terrible with timing, so who the hell knows.

I nodded to Atlas as he walked towards my office, no doubt to continue to look through shit. Last time Atlas had attended a meeting with these assholes, he had to leave the building because he got so frustrated with their bullshit and the guy didn’t have much of a temper. He had only planned on filling in for Henry in the first place, I knew he was happy to not have to deal with that shit.

Hearing voices, including my secretary, Cecile, I walked towards the front while rolling my sleeves now that I was jacketless. Inhaling, I found myself pissed that I couldn’t smell Maya’s sweet scent of sea salt, ashes, and roses. Such a unique aroma that I had begun to love. I think I was a little in love with our Mate as it was.

Alright, that part may have not been all thatlittle.
