“I explained that none of us have friendships outside of Maya,” Henry conceded, his hands tapping on the leather arm chair. I was bouncing slightly with energy because I was really interested to see how Marco was going to manage to explain all this. I never denied that I wasn’t a fucking instigator.

“How about we explain what shifters are first?” Ledger noted as Marco nodded.

“Alright,” Marco stated, looking at Maya, “remember our conversation about dragons earlier?”

She nodded, “yeah about dragons eating princesses.”

Oh holy hell.

“Christ Marco,” Henry bit out. I didn’t blame him, now all I could imagine was spreading her legs apart and showing her just how well dragons can eat princesses.

Marco chuckled and pressed his head down on Maya’s collar bone, “yes, honey, that conversation. Well, unlike your mom and Jed, some people on Earth have the ability to turn into certain animals. The six of us turn into dragons.”

My lips pressed together as Maya’s magic, unintentionally, surrounded Marco searching for lies before her cheeks flushed. “Really?”

“Really…”

“Prove it,” she chirped, her eyes filled with a live wire.

Why hadn’t we considered this?

“We would have to go outside…” Atlas didn’t finish because Maya was up and heading towards the back door. I didn’t blame her. I would want to see it as well.

“Who is going to shift?” Anani asked quietly.

“I’ve got it,” I responded as hot energy flashed through me. My dragon was way too fucking excited to show off. I pulled off my white polo as I took a moment to appreciate how stunning our little mate was, her eyes darkening upon seeing me as her cheeks turned bright red. I fucking loved that blush. I wanted to see that color all over her body.

I would also like to see her in a jacket. It was cold out.

“You sure?” I asked her as she bounced on her toes slightly, nodding bravely.

I stepped back and with ease, I shifted.
