I remember when I was in high school, my father had this man that had been molesting young children. The club had gotten word of it and picked the man up when he left work that day. It took him less than 12 hours to admit what he had been doing, and in 48 hours he didn’t even know what day it was. He couldn’t have told you how long he had been tied to that chair, forced to relieve himself in the bucket that was below him. If he could have seen the bucket, he might have known that he hadn’t been there long, but he wouldn’t have known if anyone was emptying it while he was unconscious. The club stretched his death out for 6 days before his heart gave up, it would have gone on longer if the person in the room at the time knew when to back off. They pushed him too far though and it was over.
People that will do things like that to anyone deserve to die painfully, but people that do it to children should die slowly and painfully. That is exactly what that man got. By the time they were done he didn’t have fingernails or toenails, all of his teeth were gone, and every single finger was broken. They went as far as removing his fingerprints, which wasn’t necessary because they cremated him and spread his remains around the cemetery.
Two days can be an eternity.
If the police would have tried harder, they might have been able to find her before this went too far, but they didn’t even try. The anger over Greek row being shut down is getting worse, with this girl getting drugged and raped outside of a Greek activity, there is this whole movement to open us back up. Greek parties aren’t the problem if this person or persons are willing to drug a girl in the library. The rest of campus thinks that keeping us shut down is worth it because the parties just make it easier for this person to do what they are doing. The school board seems to agree so far, and that’s fine with me. People like this always escalate, it might not be for several years, but they will get worse.
“Get in the car, we are going to eat with the guys!” I tell Zoe and Raven as I stop in front of the house. I won’t elaborate but Top and Hollow are going to be there as well as Scar, Bell, and Pyro. Neither of them has been able to meet my guys yet, and I don’t know exactly what is going on with Zoe and her guys but I know that they have all been talking since that party and homegirl is smiling an awful lot lately. So, I figure today is as good a day as any.
“So, we finally get to meet them?” Raven snickers as she climbs into the front seat.
“Yeah, yeah, it’s been a weird couple of weeks, I haven’t gotten to see them as much as I have wanted to,” I don’t know what I want more, to just hang out with them or spend the night getting railed by them.
Fuck it, we can do both!
“Don’t look so bummed,” I say to Zoe over my shoulder as I park next to two parking spaces housing 5 bikes.
“Top and Hollow are here?” Her eyes light up and her whole demeanor changes, I think it's cute how excited she is to see them. At some point, I'm going to have to ask her about her boyfriend hiatus and how that's going.
“They have decided to stay in the city rather than go home, I can't imagine why that is. Do you know, Zoe?” I laugh at her as we get out of the car, and a red flush has covered her cheeks and her ears, it even looks to be spreading down her chest.
“Don't be an ass, Finley.”
“Yes ma'am, but I'm fucking hungry so let's go get some Mexican food.”
The guys already have a table inside big enough to seat all of us, the space between Bell and Scar is open, and the one between Top and Hollow. Any question I might have had about their relationship is blown out of the park when both of them get up and kiss her intimately before pulling her chair out and sitting back down. All three of my men do something similar but before they sit down, they extend a hand to Raven and introduce themselves, as soon as they are done Top and Hollow stand back up and do the same.
“Alright, can we talk about all the hot man meat at the table, or is it off limits because the two of you are dating them?” She chuckles before sitting down, she's not rude about it but I see her check out all of the men around us and I can't blame her. Every single one of the guys blushes just a little.
“If all of the men in the club look like this, I might have to change my mind about dating one of them.”
The waitress comes up and gets our order and conversation starts to flow freely. I had been a little worried about Raven meeting the guys, I know that she accepts me and my affiliation with the club but she knew me before she knew about that. I wasn't sure if she was going to be able to give the guys an honest chance at getting to know them without judging them. She talks to all of them with such ease though I know I don’t need to worry; she might still be scared of them, but most people are.
“I brought you a gift,” Scar says and pulls a manila envelope from the inside of his cut.
“The police report?” I question with a smile; I haven't asked for it yet, but I wanted it. I don't think that I'll find anything that our friends in the system haven't found but it’s worth looking at it anyways.
Along with her report on what she could remember there is a list of her injuries. My stomach ties in a knot and I accidentally tear the paper when I ball my fist around it. I don't understand why anybody would do something like this, and the more it happens the worse it gets, her injuries aren't any worse than the last girls, but the report lists that the damage between her legs is. These men are getting rougher, they are losing their patience. I would be willing to say it's because they're not getting the rush that they got from the abuse of the first girl, they're searching for a high that they're never going to find unless they kill the woman that they're taking.
I refuse to think about it going that far.
“Maybe I should have waited until after food to read this,” I hand it back to Scar to tuck back in his vest, Zoe and Raven might ask to see it but this is going to be the one time that I tell them no. I wouldn't suffer through it if I didn't think that I could help the club in some way, I just haven't figured out what that way is yet. I still believe that there is a connection to DIK, I haven't figured out how to prove that though. There are too many things that lead back to them, including one of the brothers being the drug connection with the ASG.
“Let's talk about something lighter,” Raven suggests as our food gets set down. “What are you two doing for spring break? I know that y'all aren't on the list of people going to the beach with the rest of the sisters so where will you be?”
“I will be going home, there are a couple of things there that I would rather be doing than getting sand in places that it doesn't belong,” Bell puts his hand on my thigh under the table and gives it a little squeeze, Scar already had my hand in his he runs his thumb across the back of my knuckles.
“Ugh, that might have been more information than I needed.” She turns her attention to Zoe, “what about you, where will you be?”
Zoe seems to think about that for a moment, it kind of looks like she is trying to come up with an answer that everyone is going to leave, “I will be staying at the house. Going home isn’t an option but going to a packed beach with a bunch of drunk college kids doesn’t sound like fun either.”
“So, you are going to just be at the house alone for the week?” Raven looks horrified at that; she isn’t the type of person to hang out with herself for long.
“That’s the plan.” Zoe stuffs her mouth full of food and I watch with glee as Top and Hollow share a look over her head. They seem to have a silent conversation before they both turn to me.
“Hey, Zoe? Why don’t you come home with me? There is plenty of space and you won’t have to be alone, plus you will be able to hang out with Top and Hollow,” I know that they were hoping I would invite her so that they didn’t have to. It might have been easier to say no to the guys, they haven’t been together that long, and it might be weird for them to ask her to spend spring break with them.
Most people don't take a seven-day vacation together when they are still getting to know each other.
