No protests, no sentences starting with a why. All she wants is to please me and I watch her moan, her hand fondling between her legs and one of her plush nipples pops out of her corset and I imagine licking that little tease. Tendrils drop out of her bun and I pull the camera closer to my face, to be able to stare into her eyes and we come at the same time, frantic and fraught for each other.

Then we clean up and go about our regular day. A mobster and a dancer. Two attracted opposites but deep down we now are one.

Lyla

I want Alec to come home. It’s late in the evening and I know that heshould be home soon but I’m still impatient. Standing in front of the large mirror in our bedroom, I try on different clothes, wondering which ones he would like to see me in.

He says I look good in anything, but that can’t be true and I try out a short, flirty tennis skirt before tossing it to the side, grimacing. I’ll be too cold wearing that and it will just look strange being in a skirt when winter is knocking on the door.

I decide to go with a pair of tight pants, because I know he tends to like those and I pair it with a quarter sleeved crop top. The top shows off my cleavage or whatever I have of it and I pout at myself in the mirror. I wonder whether Alec would want me to get a boob job...

Flinching, I bury my face in my hands and shake my hand before stabbing my fingers through my tresses and let out a sigh. What is going on with me? I’ve been like this for almost three days now, ever since Alec and I...um, got crazy in the hallway.

Ever since then I’ve been obsessing about my husband, constantly wanting to be in his presence and we’ve barely even slept these nights that have passed. Instead we just go at it, tiring each other out until it sometimes feels like I’ll blackout.

Obviously we used to be love dovey before but not like this. This is on a whole different level.

Stroking my hands down my body, I tell myself to stop obsessing over my appearance because Alec likes me just the way I am and I decide to go down to the kitchen. I’ve been neglecting my wifely duties and why not make something for him until he gets home.

He’ll probably appreciate it and I ponder whether to cook or bake, but since I suck at both and Alec has a sweet tooth I decide to go with baking. The chef is gone for the day, the kitchen empty and I brush through different recipes in a cook book before settling on a simple, strawberry and whipped cream cake.

Opening the fridge, but not finding strawberries I wonder whether it’s okay to substitute them for grapes when I hear a sound from somewhere in the kitchen. At first it sounds like desperate whispers and the hair on my neck stands.

Closing the fridge I try to figure out where the sound is coming from and I freeze when I realize that it’s not whispers. Someone is screaming. For help.

“I’m coming,” I stutter powerlessly, not knowing what to do, not knowing what’s happening or how to get to whoever is crying. The kitchen doesn’t have doors, only an open vault and there’s no hedge on the floor and I don’t know how...

My eyes land on the door, the wooden one out in the hallway. The one I used to mistake for a food storage room. Running over, I panic when it’s locked.

Dammit!

Jerking the knob, I let out a frustrated cry. My heart jolts and I rush upstairs because I know where Alec keeps a loaded Glock and I take it, running downstairs again. I position myself, shooting through the lock and I exhale in relief when the door flares open.

“Hello,” I yell, fumbling through the dark, while searching for the switch. “I’m here, I’ll help...”

I turn on the light, gasping and I put a hand in front of my mouth, tears threatening to pour.Trevor. He’s in chains, on the floor and next to a bed. There’s a plate with half eaten bread and a glass of water before him. A toilet in the corner.

This looks like a prison cell and my heart starts pounding. Who put him in here? Someone from the brotherhood? Does Alec know about this...?

I freeze, remembering that a couple of days ago Alec walked out of this room. My stomach drops and I feel like gagging. He knew...

“Trevor,” I say, rushing over to him, “Trevor, I’m here. Honey, I’m here.”

His pale head is hanging, his shoulders looking like he’s carrying an up and coming apocalypse on them.

“I heard you fucking him,” is the first thing he tells me when I kneel by him. His voice is thick and he doesn’t even sound like himself or as if he knows that he’s talking. “You moaned like an animal, Lyla, you let him taint you.”

He spits the last thing and I’m not sure what is happening with him here, but all I know is that I have to get him to safety. The way he’s talking now, sounds like the ramblings of a madman and I know that’s not him.

Rubbing his shoulder, I try to get him to look at me and I flinch at the dirty look in his eyes. He’s never looked at me that way before. But I understand, he’s in shock.

“Trevor who did this to you?” I ask, trying to get him to focus, dreading the answer and between cracked lips he says,

“I believe his name isAlec.” Sneering he adds, “The name I heard you scream until I thought I was going to go insane!”

Once upon a time Alec warned me.I am a very, very bad man.I didn’t listen. Feeling like I’m about to shatter in a thousand pieces now that I know for sure it’s Alec’s fault Trevor is down here, I push that feeling aside, frantically looking for something to unlock the chains with but I don’t find anything.
