Page 10 of Tracking Her Down

“Trent, what is this?” she asks looking up at me and I snarl,

“You tell me, sunray. Or maybe it’s better if you don’t. Not sure if I want to know.”

“Where are you dragging me? I have a job to do, drinks to serve...”

“Not a good time to try and fight me,” I bark, kicking in a door where I can hide her away just until I calm down. An overweight man with box dyed hair is sitting behind a desk, talking in his phone and he stands up and starts cursing when he sees me.

“Out,” I snarl between my teeth. “Now.”

“Trent that’s my b...boss,” Raye squeaks, tugging at my arm but I ignore her, grabbing him by his shirt.

“Said get the fuck out!”

“Raye, you’re in big huge trouble. What did we say about bringing boyfriends to the bar?” he howls but he runs for the door without any more protests. Pushing my hair back from my face, I lick the sweat off my upper lip and make Raye sit down on the chair behind the desk.

She looks at me with wide, astounded eyes, silently shaking her head to herself. Breathing out, she leans back and starts fanning herself. “That was so aggressive,” she murmurs, before looking at me underneath her lashes. “And hot.”

Hot?

She lets her arms drop, causing my shirt to fall down and it does things to me, makes my head spin, makes the whole room feel like its spinning.

Her lips form into a pucker and she throws my shirt at me. “Could you cover up? You’re distracting me.”

My fist clenches around my shirt. “I’m distracting you? Says the girl working in a titty bar.”

“We prefer the term topless bar.” She yawns, stretching. “Honestly, it’s not that big of a deal. All the girls walk around like this here.”

“They’re not you,” I mutter, staring at the way her breasts pull up higher with her stretch, her stomach elongating. “Not even close.”

She raises her brows but keeps squirming around as if she’s oblivious to the effect she has on me. I can’t stop staring, rubbing the stubble on my cheek, my Johnson straining so hard in my pants, that I can’t even think straight.

Don’t think I’ve been thinking straight ever since I saw Raye and it went even further south when I saw her half naked. She’s still half naked.

Still acting like it’s not a big deal and she seems more occupied with my own nudity than hers. Her eyes dig into my muscles, going hooded, her lips getting graced with licks by her tongue. When I drag the shirt over my head, she sighs in self-afflicted disappointment.

“Trent...” she mutters, crossing her legs at the ankles, “do you think you could go and apologize to my boss?”

I shake my head in warning. “Hell no, you are never coming back here. Never working here again.”

“A girl’s got to eat,” she says with knotted brows, “have a roof over her head.”

“I’ll take care of that for you. I’ll provide for you until you find another job.”

Those words, almost make her fly out of her chair in fury. “You can’t. I like making my own money, okay?”

With a half sneer on my face, I put my arms on either side of her chair, caging her in as I bring my face closer to hers. “Fine by me. But you won’t be making them showing off treats meant only for me, for the whole town.”

“It’s my body,” she pouts and I raise my brows.

“It’s mine too.”

She squirms, looking like she’s about to throw a little tantrum when I decide to play dirty and pick up a lighter that’s lying on the desk and I turn it on. A flame pops, flickering quietly in the air conditioned room and Raye gasps.

Her hands tighten around the armrest and her eyes go from the flame to mine. Her lids flutter and then she stares at me like I’ve just discovered her kryptonite. When the gaze in her eyes turns pleading, I put the lighter away then lean back from her, crossing my arms.

“You lied to me earlier, sunray.”

Gasping and looking half panicky, she shakes her head despite not knowing what I’m referring to. “About w...what?”
