And just like that, the only girl I have ever fallen in love with walks onto a bus and rides out of sight.
I turn on my heels and walk the couple blocks to the bar, hoping Grayson is working. To my slight disappointment, he is not, but Riley is there. I straddle a stool at the bar. I let my shoulders fall and my head hang a little.
“Why so gloomy?” Riley asks me as she steps in front of me.
“Tour is over, everyone just left to go home.”
She nods her head. “Ah, so Sarah left.”
I look up, “How do you know what's going on?”
“Do you really think Grayson doesn’t tell meliterallyeverything?”
I run my hands down my face and groan.
“Yeah. Sarah left, and it sucks.”
“Well, did you ask her to stay?”
I let my arms drop on the bar and cock my head, looking at Riley.
“Why would I do that? She has a life to go home to.”
“Does she though?” Her tone is higher pitched, and the sarcasm is thick.
“Yes, she does.”
“I’m no expert, but if a girl doesn’t know how you truly feel about her, how can she make a decision?”
“You mean like you did?”
Gray told Riley how he felt. Asked her to stay many times, and she still left.
“Hey, now.” She points a finger at me. “Totally different circumstances.”
He needed to figure his shit out, learn how to love himself and where he lived before he could love someone else.
“Fair enough.”
Chapter 29
Sarah

We stopped for gas before getting on the interstate, and I told them to leave without me. I watched out the bus window as the man I think I have fallen in love with grew smaller and smaller before disappearing. I didn’t like the sadness and nausea I felt as soon as the bus turned the corner, and I couldn’t see him anymore.
I can’t just go running back though, can I?
I pull my phone out and call Chrissy.
“Hey Tits, what’s up?”
I huff out a breath. “I one hundred percent regret telling you that story.”
“I don’t. It was hilarious,” she laughs, and I roll my eyes. “What’s up? You’re coming home today, aren’t you?”
“Umm. Well…”
