“Nothing is wrong with me except the fact that my girlfriend just went down on me only so I’d give her permission to go work on her blog!”

“Permission? I don’t need permission from you to work on anything!”

“Fine, then go work on anything,” Sally said, lying back down and turning on her side.

“Fine, I will.”

“Fine.”

“Fine.”

“Close the door so I d

on’t have to hear you typing while I go back to sleep.”

“Fine.”

“Fine.”

Sally pulled the covers over her head just as she heard the bedroom door shut.

Put that in your fucking blog!

Despite being upset, Sally did manage to fall back asleep and when she woke again, the clock told her it was now past nine a.m.

Rubbing her eyes, she sat up and as soon as the fog of sleep and uneasy dreams cleared from her mind, was able to recall the argument with Amy.

With the benefit of time and more sleep, she felt calmer and even remorseful for her part in the disagreement. Things shouldn’t have escalated to the point they had and with hindsight, she saw how she could have said certain things differently or in a manner that would have prevented the small-scale war.

But wasn’t that often the way with arguments? The feelings and thoughts which start them are just spurted out and it’s only until later when one can re-evaluate and say to themselves, “Oh, crap; I could have approached that better”?

Still though, Sally was also feeling that she’d had a right to tell Amy what was on her mind back then because she still wasn’t happy with what had transpired earlier. It was just that now, Sally could come up with at least a dozen better ways to have done it.

Sighing, she got out of bed and though she wanted to immediately go find Amy, she determined that having a heart-to-heart chat with your girlfriend was best done without morning breath.

Expecting to find Amy typing away on her laptop in the living room of the suite, Sally instead discovered her curled up on the couch, fast asleep. Instantly, Sally felt her heart break. Okay, they had had an argument—and they were sure to have plenty more if they kept seeing each other—but she would never want Amy to feel that she couldn’t share a bed with her! Or, even worse, to not want to share a bed with her!

Right then, she realized that there were far worse things than having a girlfriend who liked to blog at ungodly hours of the morning.

Sally lowered herself to the floor beside the couch, folding her legs under her, and gently stroked Amy’s hair. At her touch, Amy stirred, opened her eyes slowly and smiled an adorable sleepy smile.

“Good morning,” Sally whispered.

“Good morning,” Amy replied and then yawned.

“Sorry to wake you.”

“I’m glad you did,” Amy said.

“And I’m sorry for everything else too.”

“Me too, baby.”

Amy scootched over to make room for Sally on the couch and Sally happily laid down next to her, tucking some stray locks of Amy’s brown hair behind her ear.

“I shouldn’t have attacked you like I did,” Sally said, and then grinned impishly. “I promise I won’t complain the next time you wake me up by going down on me.”
