she came up with. My God, it’s bad. I’ll buy her a plane ticket
to get her out there.”
Dallas was so glad that Danica was with Quinn. Maybe
she could keep talking to her even after Dallas had to hang up.
Maybe it would take a day or two, but possibly, she could get
Quinn to come around.
“Quinn. I’ll buy you another plane ticket when you’re
ready to come. Don’t worry. I’m not mad. My parents won’t
be mad. I just want you to know that I was serious. I’m not
giving up on us because it might get tricky or difficult, or
because the logistics don’t line up or always make sense. I said
I was going to fight for you, and I won’t stop doing it. We
have something good. Please don’t throw it away.”
“I- I don’t know,” Quinn whispered. She sounded as
far away as Danica was. “I don’t know right now. I need some
time to think. I don’t want you to resent me. I don’t want you
to have to change everything in your life for me. That’s not
fair to you and it’s not fair of me to even ask you to consider
it.”
“But it would be my choice. You know that, right?”
“Heavily influenced by me and feelings you might not
be in control of that the time.”
“You know, sometimes taking a chance on something
isn’t the worst thing in the world. I would miss my parents, but
I could still keep in touch and fly back to visit. They never
said that I had to stay here and be so close to them forever.
They’d understand. I’m an adult. I’m free to make my own
choices and if that means living somewhere else, they’d be
/> fine with that.”
“Would they?” Quinn still sounded so skeptical.
