when they were free. I bought the place a few years ago, so I’d
been at my job for a while, but my parents gave me this bonus
gift for Christmas and my birthday that year, since they knew
I’d have to pay for the materials myself. It actually wasn’t that
bad. It looks good, but everything was actually from discount
stores and Dad turned out to be really good at home
renovations.”
“That’s crazy. It looks like you had a whole crew in
here.”
“I basically did. Sometimes it was all five of us
painting walls or assembling cabinets.”
“That’s amazing. I didn’t know you could do half of
this.”
“I didn’t know either. Apparently I’m pretty good at
tiling.” Quinn pointed to the backsplash. “That’s all hand-
blown glass. I think it was the most expensive thing in here,
but I thought it was gorgeous and I had to have it. It was such
a small space that the cost of it deterred me. I think it was also
the only thing that we didn’t really get on sale.”
“It’s very nice. I- I have a condo too. In Tampa, but it’s
not nearly as nice as this. You guys did such a good job. I was
thinking that it looks like those places in designer magazines.
You’ll have to tell your parents and Danica and Billy that they
