drifting back to the project she was managing. And to Taylor. Christina had

started to think about Taylor in a different way. It still wasn’t clear to her

whether she was a lesbian and was available, but it was clear that Taylor

was attractive and that was the bit that Christina couldn’t get out of her

mind.

Christina lane changed too aggressively, cutting off a huge red, lifted

truck behind her. The guy laid on the horn and she gripped the wheel a little

bit harder. She’d been off at work for a while now. Apparently, she was off

in her personal life too. She needed to pay more attention to everything,

including her driving. She knew that she needed to give her head a literal

and mental shake. Or at least just a mental one. She needed to stop thinking

about Taylor as a sexy, gorgeous woman who may or may not be single and

may or may not be a lesbian and start focusing on their project again.

Even though she’d been stern with herself, determined to squash the

spark of desire she felt whenever she found herself thinking about Taylor,

Christina knew that as soon as she got to the building to check on the

progress of the renovations, her focus would go straight south. Literally. On

her body.

She knew exactly what was happening and she didn’t like that she

hadn’t just had moments at work, while driving, and in her free time where

her body lit up and burned, she’d had a dream as well. It was only once, but

that once was too many.

Taylor’s building came into view and Christina steeled herself. She

pulled into the parking lot and wedged her car between two massive white

pickup trucks with construction logos on the windows. Yes, she was going

to see Taylor. No, she was not going to stare at her. She was not going to try

and figure out why they were clashing. What it was that Taylor didn’t like

about her. She was going to chalk that up to the fact that Taylor wanted to

be in control of her own business, and she was just asserting that.

There was not going to be any noticeable tension. There was not
