Despite the distress on her face, she was quite beautiful. Stunning,

actually. Christina tore her eyes away from the woman’s coral hued bow

lips and appraised the rest of her. She had gold studs in her ears and a

matching gold chain at her neck with a small heart pendant that sat at the

hollow of her throat. The jewelry was obviously cheap, probably gold

plated. She wore the same starched white button up shirt and black pants as

the other servers at the event center, but the blouse was a size too small,

given how the woman’s ample chest filled it out, although the way it was

tucked into the black pants did emphasize her tiny waist.

“Sorry!” the guy fumed. Christina tore her eyes away from the waitress

with a bit of a shock and studied him instead. The red was creeping up his

thick neck and she suspected he was about to go into a full-on rage. She

was right. “You’ve ruined an expensive suit!”

Christina knew clothing— she was from New York after all— and she

could tell that the guy probably hadn’t invested more than a couple hundred

bucks into the clothing he had on.

“I’m very sorry, sir. I’m sure that we’ll take care of the dry-cleaning

cost—”

“And how’s that supposed to fix the rest of my evening?” Mr. Rage

seethed. “I paid good money for a ticket to this thing. What do you make?

Hmm? Minimum wage? That hardly covers the cost of the drinks you just

spilled everywhere. You’d have to work a month to pay to replace this suit.”

“I’m really very sorry. I’ll get a cloth—”

“A cloth?” Mr. Apparently Expensive Suit scoffed. “What’s a cloth

going to do?”

“I’ll get— I’ll get my manager and you can discuss the dry-cleaning

voucher—”

“A voucher?”

Christina winced. Damn. The guy was a huge asshole, lying about the

cost of his suit and making a big freaking scene, but that waitress was doing
