“I didn’t mean to scare you. Are you sure this will help?”
“Yes.” She smiles up at me. “It’s a massive help.”
“Are you ever going to tell me what you need the money for?”
“How about I promise to do it soon?”
Soon…
The problem with soon is that I don’t know when that will be, and I don’t know if the money I’ve paid is enough. But… I’ll allow her privacy. Maybe it’s just that I’m not used to being with women who aren’t interested in money.
“Okay… promise me.”
“I promise.” Her eyes twinkle with that spark I love, and I run my finger over the edge of her waist.
“Come here,” I say, crocking my finger for her to come to my lips.
She does and gives me the sweetest kiss.
It’s one I relish for the taste of her lips. We have time before I have to leave. I want to be inside her again. I lift her up and carry her back to bed.
Risk hangs over my head. But I won’t stop playing this game until she does.
Something tells me I’ll have a long time to wait for that to happen.
