“Oh?” Sal gives her a pointed look—one I don’t care for.

“Shane’s family plot would be a good backdrop for the introduction ceremony since everyone will be in costume,” she says shyly.

“That’s actually a great idea.” Sal rubs his chin. “Take pictures, and then everyone moves back down to the big tree and the couches for mingling.”

She blushes, and the fact Sal’s going to use her idea, makes me proud.

“After the mingling ceremony, you will have one date, two people,” Sal explains. “Then one will go.”

“Got it.” I nod in agreement. “Do you know the group events?”

“Pumpkin chucking. Tractor pull. Haunted house for Friday festival. That’s just a few.”

“You should make the tractor pull bikinis and swim trunks only,” Snow says, surprising us.

Shane scratches his head. “It’s a little chilly outside.”

“That’s the point,” Snow replies, shifting to face him. “They have to be able to hang. Get them up early for it as well.”

“You have any more ideas, Snow, come find me.” Sal says his goodbyes and leaves to see to the setup.

“Then I have to get up early,” I mumble.

“You already do.” She pats my chest, peering up at me with a grin. “You get up before us, do the barn chores, and come back to bed.”

“I thought I was being quiet.”

“You think a herd of thundering elephants is quiet?” She starts laughing, and I throw a piece of bacon at her.

“Are we starting a food fight?” Silas booms from the door.

“No.” I direct my attention to him. “Snow just thought she was being funny.”

“She is, if you didn’t know.” He winks at her.

“You guys ready?” Silas asks.

“Yeah, Memphis is outside with Ever, talking to Sal. Axel is sitting on the porch, lazy ass.”

“Is everyone else coming today?” I ask.

“Linc and Jimmy are out of town, looking at cattle.” Silas stuffs his hands in his front pockets. “Mason might be. I think Skye and Ariel are coming up later with Brick. You said Tobias and Diego were helping. I’m sure the others will trickle in . . . I mean tradition and all.”

“Good. There is something I need to say, before introducing you to said person,” I tell him.

Snow and Shane look worried now.

“I already said I’m not going anywhere,” I assure them, “but this person is important.”

“Okay, yeah, I’ll text everyone.” Shane nods as he and Silas go outside.

“Wipe that look off your face before I spank you.” I wink at Snow.

“Spank me?” she asks, raising an eyebrow in question.

“Ask Shane.” I chuckle as I head outside to meet the crew for this season.

I laugh even harder when I see Snow looking heated as she tells Shane what I said. He locks eyes and just snorts.

I’m pretty sure he will clue her in.
