“Yeah. You guys can stay if you want,” I say to Piper.
I dress quickly and join King at the front door where Aiden is waiting with my coat.
“See you tomorrow, hot stuff. I’ll be the one in the victory pose. You can join me if you want a winner,” Aiden winks at me. I just grin, knowing it will rile Kingston up.
I hear a growl behind me, and I know he took the bait.
“Watch it, Sebastian,” he snarls.
“Just saying I could use a pretty woman on my arm when I raise that check above my head,” Aiden smirks.
“Good night, Aiden,” I say, grinning, as I pull Kingston toward the door.
“See you guys tomorrow,” Aiden shuts the door laughing as we get in the waiting Uber.
“He was joking,” I say, snuggling up to Kingston in the back seat.
“I know, I just hate it when guys hit on you,” he admits.
“You’re the only one for me,” I say, yawning. I fall asleep in his arms. Before I know it, Kingston is laying me in the bed and I’m out again.
Kingston
We have to be at the arena a couple of hours before the fight. I won’t admit it out loud, but I’m nervous. Caleb was child’s play. Aiden is the real deal and though he said he would help, I’m still worried that it all falls through.
On top of that I’m worried that Lane will be there and try to hurt Briar.
I let Briar sleep as I shower, throw on some sweats and a tee. I go to make coffee and find Remo sitting at the kitchen table staring out the window.
“Hey,” I say, I feel like a dick since I’ve been ignoring him.
“What’s up? Nervous?”
“No,” I lie.
“Liar,” he snorts.
“You got me. How you holding up?”
“Viktor contacted me yesterday. We took the boys to meet their real dad. I’m afraid they love him more than me,” he says sadly.
“I don’t think that’s true. It’s all new. I’m sure when they see you in a couple of weeks they will be happy to see you,” I pat his shoulder and go to pour myself a cup of coffee.
“They’re not coming back. He wanted to move them up here and get them into school right away. It sucks, but it’s his right. We have worked it out that I will visit often,” he says.
“I’m sorry. My sister is being such a bitch right now. None of this is fair to you,” I say, taking a seat next to him.
“I need an outlet or my anger will cause me to explode,” he admits.
“How about you come to the gym, get in the cage? Better than just punching a bag.. See if you like it?” I suggest.
“Really?”
“Yeah, Dasher is going to start teaching more advanced classes, one on one along with Tristan. I think it will be good for you,” I tell him. He knows more than basics and he’s fit. I just think being in the cage against an opponent will help him.
“I appreciate everything you’ve done for me,” he says.
“I’m sorry Embry did this. You don’t deserve this,” I say as there is a knock on the door.
