“Mom, are Remo’s kids his?” There is silence. What is wrong with this family?

“No, they aren’t. We didn’t tell him because he was so good to them.”

“Well, Embry didn’t repay that. She’s sleeping with Lane, even knowing what he did to Briar.”

“Well fuck,” and I’m stunned. My mom never cusses.

“Mom?”

“I have the boys. What do I do? Is Embry a threat to them? Is she a threat to Briar?”

“Okay, calm down. Bring the kids to the hotel and you can stay here, give your staff a few days off. We will figure it out,” I hush her.

“I’m so sorry we didn’t tell him. But I didn’t know about the Lane thing. Remo just asked me to take the kids for a night,” she says.

“We’ll fill you in when you get here,” I hang up and sit there. Lane has made a mess of my family, of my love life. I want to see him strung up and slaughtered at this point. I take a breath and walk back out to join the others.

“Remo, I’m sorry,” I tell him.

“It’s all right. Did you talk to her?”

“Yeah, I did,” I say sadly.

“I’m guessing she admitted it,” Don states.

“She did and something else,” I start and everyone looks at me.

“What?”

“The boys aren’t yours,” I tell him and I watch as the man breaks down. Briar rushes to his side and holds him. I say nothing, he needs the comfort.

“That man has made a mess of things and I need him to go down. He’s ruined my family, he’s hurt people I care about,” I admit.

“We will get him,” Hayes says, and I jump.

“When did you get here? And why?”

“Well, Remo called me to tell me he was throwing his hat in the ring,” he smirks.

“Funny,” I sit on the couch and Thorn hands me a plate of food.

“I’m willing to look the other way right now, and we need the help,” Hayes says, and I nod.

“Mom is on her way with the kids. We can figure all of this out,” I tell Don.

“How could she do this to me?” Don cries into Briar’s arms and my heart breaks for that man.

“Tristan, call Viktor and let him know what’s going on,” I say and Tristan steps outside to make the call.

“Have you had any luck?” I ask Hayes.

“Nothing. If we get a whiff of what he is doing or where he is, he’s gone by the time we get there,” Hayes admits.

“How about we watch a movie and forget about the heavy shit for a bit?” Thorn suggests.

“Or we can go down to the pool,” I counter, and everyone nods, even Remo.

“Hayes, you staying?” I ask him.
