Connor held a hand out to help me off Flynn’s lap. “I’ll make sure she gets to her room.”

I took it, smiling at the absurdity. “I can find my own room.”

“I like being helpful,” Connor confided.

I didn’t argue, allowing him to lead me out of the living room. We paused at the staircase, and he seemed to want to go upstairs. I put my hands on my hips, thoroughly amused. “Do you even know where my room is?”

“Is it the one you live in?” he asked hesitantly.

“That’s the one,” I agreed.

“No. I have no idea.”

I laughed, turning my back on him to walk down the hall. He followed close behind, monitoring my every move. When I reached my own door, I pushed it open so he could look inside. There wasn’t much to it. It was a servant’s room with just one window, a closet, and not much else.

“Humble,” Connor observed.

“It’s all mine,” I said.

“But is it really?” He came up behind me and spun me around.

“As much as anything I own,” I argued.

Connor slid his arms around my waist, locking his hands behind my back. I felt the comfort of his broad chest and turned my face up to look him in the eye. He took advantage of the situation, kissing me deeply. I accepted the gesture, welcoming the intrusion. His love took the harsh edges off my exhaustion, making me forget about the stress of the day.

I held on like a shipwreck victim clinging to a life raft, as if his kiss could solve everything. It had been an emotional roller coaster of a day. I was thrilled that it had all turned out so well, but for a moment there, I’d wondered if it would. When I finally crawled into bed, I felt well loved.

Connor didn’t stay. He left me with just that one kiss, determined to let me rest. I felt my heart swell with the realization that all my guys were there for me. They were under one roof, doing their best to get along. I couldn’t ask for anything more. I slid beneath the covers and allowed myself to relax.

There would be a lot to do the next day, making sure that Seanan recovered. But for the time being, the excitement was over, and Flynn had everything well in hand.

CHAPTERTWENTY-SIX

FLYNN

Connor came back into the room after showing Bre to her bed. I watched him carefully, trying not to be jealous. It was hard to imagine sharing the rest of my life with these other two guys, but if that’s what Bre wanted, then I was determined to make it work.

“Can we finish our discussion?” I asked. I felt like there were a bunch of things left unsaid that really needed to be ironed out.

“Sure,” Declan sighed, getting comfortable in an armchair.

I sat back on the couch, leaving Connor to fend for himself. He walked around to the dry bar and pulled out my bottle of Pappy Van Winkle.

“I’d prefer it if you didn’t,” I said dryly.

Connor winked, paying no attention. He poured himself a glass and tasted it. “You can bill me if you like.”

“I may.”

“Here I thought we’d made such progress,” Dex snapped.

“I believe I was saying that I was a jealous shit.” I picked up the train of thought I had been following way back at the beginning of the day.

“Glad your little girl is okay,” Connor said, sitting down beside me.

He was trying to get under my skin, that much was obvious. I wasn’t sure what his game was, but it made me suspicious. Dex, on the other hand, seemed much more rational. He was calm and compassionate. He obviously cared about Bre, and while I was sure the same was true for Connor, he also seemed to want to joke about everything.

“Full disclosure,” Connor said, swirling his drink. “I’m bisexual.”
