He grabs hold of my hips and does not let me choose the rhythm (obviously he thought I was going too slow) and starts thrusting into me hard onto his waiting cock.

I’m going to have bruises where his fingers have been, but at this moment I don’t care.

He has sweat on his forehead and I can feel mine running down my spine. I come almost straight away, having been on the edge of orgasm since he dragged me into the bedroom.

He comes not long after, and I fall onto his body.

We’re both panting.

Exhausted from the workout that is sex. Which, if you ask me, is the only fun work-out.

I open my eyes and our foreheads press together.

Then we burst out laughing.

All the stress of our heavy conversation leaves my body.

That’s when I know me and Ady are going to take on the world, and it’s going to be fun going on this journey together.

Bryan spots us first, and being married really agrees with him. He stands as we approach and gives me a hug and kiss on the cheek. He pulls Ady in for a hug and whispers something in his ear.

I can’t make out what they said because if Bryan doesn’t want you to hear something, then you won’t.

“I see you two have kissed and made up,” Catherine smiles, putting her sunglasses back on her head.

I glare at her. And because I haven’t put my sunglasses on, she can see. This makes her burst out laughing.

“We all know it wasn’t me she was furious with.”

“Yeah, and we’re going to move on from this conversation into much happier ones, right?"

I look at each of them individually as I go round the table.

Ady puts his arm round the back of me where we’re sitting and kisses my cheek.

“Of course.”

“So when do you fly back to New York, Sara?” Bryan asks, looking up from his menu.

“Tomorrow afternoon. I need to go back and pack up my stuff. Hopefully, my new boss will be okay with me needing a few days.”

Bryan and Adrien share a look.

“I’m sure he’ll be fine.” Catherine laughs.

“Take all the time you need. I don’t think anyone is expecting you till next week, anyway.”

“Oh, great.”

That makes me feel better. I haven’t even thought about what I’m going to do with all my stuff.

We order food and spend the rest of the afternoon laughing and eating good food and drinking good wine. With the wedding out of the way, Catherine has relaxed a ton, and it’s nice to just hang out. I’m going to miss them. I’ve got used to having them around. It’s made me realize just how isolated I’ve made myself in New York.

For the first time in a long time, I feel like the old me.

I spot her before anyone else at the table does, but Adrien must know and feel me flinch when I see her walking across the restaurant. Jaime looks like she's trying, unsuccessfully, to move her away from coming over.

“Incoming” I whisper.
