I’d like to say he looks embarrassed, unfortunately he isn’t. He seems to be quite proud of that fact. Bryan makes himself even more at home, syncing his phone up to my speakers.
“I warned you, you were gonna regret giving him your Wi-Fi password.” Catherine takes some empty plates to the sink before sitting down and eating the rest of her food.
“Even I don’t have the Wi-Fi password,” Sara says, looking up.
“Oh, Sara, he obviously loves me more.”
I grab hold of Sara’s hand and squeeze it.
“Don’t think so, Bry,” she stands up to kiss me on the cheek. “You don’t give him blowjobs when he wants them.”
Mic drop. Sara leaves the room to go to the bedroom.
Catherine just stands there with her mouth on the floor.
“Game on,” shouts Bryan while he continues messing with his phone. “Have I told you how fucking happy I am that you two are back together?”
He has. Repeatedly.
“So, Bryan, what do you need me to do today?”
“Nothing. Just make sure I do nothing that damages this gorgeous face, and we’re good.”
I look at Catherine.
“I know he’s a cocky SOB, but he’s my SOB.”
It’s then I notice Catherine has a book in her hand. The book me and Sara have been reading, well read since I finished it yesterday.
“Is that the book in question?” Asks Bryan, trying to take it off Catherine.
“Hey, Sara gave me very strict instructions with this book.”
“Don’t look at me, Catherine. I know what she’s like with her books. I remember that all too well from before.”
We all sit around the table and I realize how much I miss just hanging out with my two best friends. Catherine moved to that second spot so long ago, it’s hard to remember a time when she wasn’t there.
Sara walks out of the bedroom in a super short summer dress. I have to adjust myself. I pat my leg for her to sit on my knee. I just want her close.
I know I sound all possessive and shit, but I can’t help but need her close.
Catherine’s phone starts to ring on the table, so she steps out of the room to take it.
Sara sits on my knee and looks at me, obviously feeling my hard on.
“Down boy,” she whispers.
“So Sara. I hear you’re excited about the move to LA?”
“I sure am.”
“You know I could have got you something here?”
“I know, Bryan, I was being too proud.”
Sara looks embarrassed.
“I get it,” he says. “Just glad you took this loser up on his offer.”
