“No need. I’m glad you are okay,” he replies with a smile.

“Why don’t I help you to your seat, you shouldn’t be walking around,” Tal says as he starts ushering her away.

“Looks like you’re the real hero.” I say, glad that he helped that woman, but also still angry that she jumped into his arms like that. How many women has he got jumping into his arms? “Do you have many women jumping into your arms like that?”

Damn, I didn’t mean to blurt that out.

“No,” he mutters, not at all reassuring.

“Why don’t you rest, it’s a long time still until we land,” he says by placing his hand over mine on the arm rest of the seat. I might still be in a daze, but I know when someone is sidestepping from talking.

Huffing in irritation, I pull my hand from under his, placing it on my lap. But no sooner do I do that, he is lifting it again to where it was.

“Stop sulking.”

I turn my head to look at him again, glaring in irritation. How dare he tell me to stop sulking. Who does he think he is? “I’m not sulking, and even if I was, it has nothing to do with you,” I say angrily.

“That’s where you are wrong. It has everything to do with me and you know it,” he states.

“Really? And why is that? Just because you saved my life doesn’t mean you own me,” I snap in irritation, wondering how just a couple of minutes ago we were getting along so well, and now it has all derailed.

“Actually, baby girl, you are my mate, so I own every part of you.”

What the hell is he talking about, or better yet, what has he been smoking?

“You are making no sense. That gash on your head must have affected you worse than you think,” I state as I turn my head away from him and close my eyes. I won’t give him the benefit of continuing this fight. I try to pull my hand away again. But it’s to no avail because he tightens his hold on it.

Irritating, overbearing, and savage.
