DAG 20
“That is all you heard when they mentioned Aldor?” Tor asks again. We have been at this for a couple of hours now. It started with Esmeralda identifying the women, and it was clear that it was painful for her to see the women’s images. I would have stopped it, but she wants to… no… she needs to do this to try to find some kind of peace with what she has done.
I’m fine with that, but the questions are starting to grind on me. “She has answered that. You’re not questioning her. She is freely replying to all your questions,” I state as I sit forward. I will stop the questioning if they don’t stop interrogating her as if she has something to hide. Tor looks at me and frowns, then at Esmeralda.
“Sorry, sweetheart. Sometimes people remember things they didn’t even know they knew,” Tor says. “But Dag is right, enough of that.”
“Have you ever heard the name Zorb?” Garth asks.
His question has Esmeralda nodding, and her eyes widening.
“Yes. That’s the guy that they got the drugs from.”
Her reply has most of us confused because we know that Zorb is Aldor’s organization.
“Have you seen this guy?” I ask, but she shakes her head.
“No, I just heard the men commenting about Zorb sending this shipment or that shipment,” she replies with a shrug
“How do you know it was a shipment of drugs?” Celmund asks.
“Because they always used to say that Zorb has the best product, and I knew that every time they had a shipment, then there would be a party.” She sighs. “Their parties were always heavy with drugs and alcohol.”
“Is it possible that the drugs were payment for the women?”
My question has her eyes turning towards me as my thumb strokes the inside of her wrist in a soothing manner, trying to ease this tiresome questioning. She frowns as she thinks about what I have asked, and then she slowly nods.
“It’s possible. I never thought about it but it’s possible.”
“Why do you think they were so adamant to get you back?” Bion asks as he leans back in his chair and crosses his arms across his chest.
“Because I know all their contacts, who they sell to and who they buy from.”
I see Celmund grin and Tor’s eyebrows raise in pleasure. Looks like we are bringing down the drug trade in Cape Town, and by doing that, we will be poking the bear who is Aldor, and maybe get him to make a mistake. We know that the Desperados were his main contact when it came to the kidnapping of women. Yes, other gangs have also helped, but it was in conjunction with the Desperados and not directly with Aldor.
Because of my woman, we now know more than we did, much more. Now we can start working to bring down Aldor and finding the women that he has already taken. Sean said that they get taken to Qatar because of the enhanced men. Now we just need to figure out how they are using the women to do it.
“Colborn said that one of the men you brought back can bend fire?” Bion asks, as he looks at me. Colborn must have told him who we fought.
“Yeah, that was an interesting surprise,” I reply.
“Was it like our men?” Tor questions, which has me thinking back to how the fucker tried to burn me.
“No, not with him. It was more like heating up and not a combustion.” I incline my head towards Tor. “You can make fire. I think with him it was more of heating someone up, somewhat like Anastasia’s can do with freezing.”
“Like a radiator?” Garth asks with a raised brow.
I nod.
“Hmm, interesting,” Bion says as he rubs his jaw pensively.
Esmeralda suddenly yawns, which has me looking at her and realizing that she looks tired. It has been a long day. After our shower, I made sure that she ate something before we came here. I know that the men would have a lot to discuss about everything that we found today, so by the time we came in, it was starting to get dark.
“I think that’s enough for today. How about we call it a day? If you remember anything else, you can always ask tomorrow.” The men would never contradict me when it comes to my mate’s welfare. Pulling back my chair, I stand.
“Thank you, Darling, that was really helpful,” Bion says. “And tomorrow I would like to have a look at that wrist.”
Esmeralda smiles as she stands and nods.
