Tazio takes up position slightly in front of me after I hit the button for my Gattina’sfloor. His voice is low, “Did you tell Elio about your plan?” For a moment I’m worried Tazio is talking about the full breadth of my plan, but there’s no way he would know all of it. “I’m sure he’d be,” Tazio pauses as if searching for the right word, “interested to find out you’re now engaged.”

I bark out a laugh and shake my head, clamping a hand down on Tazio’s shoulder. There’s amusement in my voice, “I’m sure Elio would be interested, but no, I haven’t told him about my impending marriage.” I shrug even though Tazio can’t see me. “He has no need to know of my plans yet. This is only going to strengthen the Agosti name. Even if it weren’t, he doesn’t get a say. I’m marrying Lily and that’s all there is to it.”

Tazio cranes his neck to look at me and something like recognition passes through his eyes. I wouldn’t be surprised if he figured out how many chess pieces I moved to ensure Lily would be mine in all ways, but I’m not going to confirm a damn thing. Not to him, not to anyone. Tazio has been underestimated in many ways, but not by me. People think because he’s an enforcer that he’s only a pair of fists or they assume he’s less than because of his height. I’ve never been under such illusions.

Because Tazio is loyal, he doesn’t say a word and follows me down the hallway to my Lily’s door. I really wish she was in the Scavo home, it would have been safer for her, but at the same time, it won’t matter after today. I knock on the door, knowing damn well my fiancé is inside because I’ve had eyes on her for this last week…along with all the days since I first met her.

She’s home and the longer I wait, the more I want to kick the door in and throw her over my shoulder. My chest is heaving by the time she cracks the door open, looking up at me with one wide, brown eye. The sigh she heaves is mighty, but she still opens the door wider.

With one hand on her hip, she surveys Tazio and then me. I like her eyes on me. Probably too much. I’m man enough to admit it.

“I see you’re here to collect me.” Her eyes sweep back over Tazio and it’s a damn good thing I don’t see any desire there or else I’d shoot the man in the head right here and now and not give a flying fuck about it. There’s derision in her tone, “With muscle.” Her eyes snap to mine, a challenge in her voice, “Are you trying to intimidate me?”

I grin at Lily and push my way across the threshold and crowd her, my cock going rock fucking hard when she doesn’t step back from me. “I don’t need Tazio to intimidate anyone for me,” I chuckle darkly, “I do just fine on my own.” I lean down into her space and run my nose against the column of her neck. “Except with you,Gattina, which is what makes you perfect for me,” I breathe the words against her neck and almost come in my pants when goosebumps cover her skin.

“You don’t intimidate me.” She backs up enough so she can look into my eyes, but it doesn’t feel like she’s given up any of her ground by doing so. “I figure you have some other reason for our little…arrangement."

I shake my head slowly, my voice dropping ominously, “You’re wrong. I told you the complete truth about what I want and why.” I look into her eyes. “I will never lie to you, Lily.”

What she doesn’t need to know, she won’t ever ask which means I won’t have to lie to her about it. Is it a gray area? Considering I’m omitting some truth she might find useful? Yes, of course. I revel in the gray and I’m not going to apologize for it.

When I look over next to the door, I take in the three suitcases packed and ready, knowing full well I was going to come for her. Fuck. If my dick doesn’t get some relief, which will only come in the form of her tight, wet heat, my balls are going to mutiny.

I look over my shoulder at Tazio and nod toward the bags. He doesn’t miss a beat, grabbing them quickly. Lily watches me carefully, but I simply hold my arm out for her. When she grabs her purse, loops her arm through mine, and settles next to me, as if she was always supposed to be there, something clicks into place.

I’m never going to be some white knight, but I’ll destroy the whole fucking world for my woman if need be. She’s everything to me. I know it’ll take some time for her to believe it, but I have the time. I’ll show her bit by bit how much she means to me, keeping some secrets about how deep my obsession goes to protect her.

When we make it downstairs, Tazio loads her bags and I open the door to the backseat for her and almost groan at the way her skirt rides up her thighs as she slides across the seat, making room for me. The act is sweet and thoughtful with a touch of subservience. It gets to me along with the expanse of her milky thigh on display. I don’t think my cock can get any harder.

The drive home is far too long and yet too short at the same time. I know she’s probably nervous. Fuck, my own heart is trying to beat out of my chest, but it’s not from nerves. It’s from excitement.

I’m a fucking Agosti and it’s time to claim my woman.
